Losing 50 pounds

Most of my life I was always between 90-100 pounds. My senior year of high school (when I worked in fast food) and my freshman year of college (which is right now) has made my weight shoot up to 160 pounds! Its such a huge weight gain in such little time that it worries me. I really want to lose the weight. It has caused me pain financially (I've had to buy a couple pairs of new pants), and emotionally.
Problem: I mostly eat things in cans...because I live in a dorm without a kitchen. All I have is a microwave and a minifridge. I've tried to cut back on my soda intake and drink more water. I love coffee though (is that bad for you?). I don't really have time to go to the gym between work and school but I do walk long distances about about four hours a week if not more (no car).
So here is my questions:
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can lose weight?
Does anyone know of any food I could easily store in a minifridge (or does not need to be refridgrated) that is healthy and inexpensive???????

That's a bit terrible. I have always been around 80 pounds and now that i have 3 kids, I'm 97 pounds. My problem is only my bulging stomach. Why not cut down on food and increase your water intake. your right in cutting down on juice because it is also high in intake. Why not buy food everyday so you can cook it fresh if your mini fridge cannot hold many foods?

lifestyle change eat healthy foods count calories and exercise regularly eat four or five meals a day small ones and dont eat more than 30 calories a day for each KG of weight you want to remain at. 1 KG = 2.2 LB for each 3500 calories you dont eat or burn with extra exercise you will lose one lb.

How about not store any food in your apartment. Then you have to walk some place to get it. One way to cut down on your caloric intake. If you want to lose the weight you will. That is the best method that comes to mind. Good luck.

Hey just responded to your other discussion about WOW and I seen this. I dont know how long ago the pics on your profile were taken but if they were anytime recently I cant see where you need to loose any weight. Most everyone puts on some weight as they get older in life, right or wrong the majority of us do it. I would say be happy with yourself is the most important thing so if loosing weight will make you happier than go for it. But if you are doing it because of someoen else than screw em. Not sure about the coffee being good or bad for you as alot fo people argue over this. I know alot of diets try to get you off coffe to jump start your own bodies matabolism. I would second the idea someone else said about not keeping food in your dorm or if you do try soemthing thats filling but good for you, like rice cakes...yuck. But personally I like a woman with some meat on her bones...lol
