when i had my first baby, i had absolute horrible back pain labor. i didnt have an epidural, i was determined to have him naturally. it turns out that he was facing up, his spine was pressing down on my spine, so this is why i had nothing but back labor. now i am due any day now with my second baby. my question is this, since i had nothing but back labor with my first, does that mean that i am going to experience the same kind of pain with this birth? or does it all depend on the way the baby is facing? has anyone else gone thru this type birth?

I had back labor too. I think it has to do with your babys position. Some moms have it one time and not another. Sadly the baby im carrying now is in the exact same position as his older brother, so im sure to get back labor again. Somethings that help with back labor is the water. Being in the water while in labor and delivery ( if possible) is a god idea.

oh yes!!! water does wonders. i think thats why i was able to have him with no epidural. i was in the jacuzzi for almost the whole time. i had to get out when it was time to push becuase the tub was too small to deliver in. but then again, i wasnt in hard labor for very long...about 6 hours of hard labor. but i had to push for 2! how far along are you? how does your dr know that your baby is already in the same position? i wonder if my dr can tell me this. actually, after i got out of the jacuzzi, the dr was able to manually flip my son to face the correct position, but it was too late, all of my pain was staying in my back.

im 29 weeks today. I can feel my babys position myself. His rump is in my liver on the right, just like my first, every now and then he lays on the other side, but not often really. Lucky that you got him to move before delivery too. Mine was in the wrong position all the way coming out lol.

really??? thats so odd becuase my first was always with his little butt against my belly throughout the whole pregnancy. i could tell because i would always feel him pressed up and i never really felt too many of his kicks and punches. now, THIS baby is a completely different story. this one is always jamming its knees, feet and hands against my belly. it HURTS. and this one is such a mover! i think its still doing flips in there. lol. it is in denial that he or she is way too big for that now. well, i hope your baby flips over for you. i "feel" your pain :)
