My religion is Hinduism and iam hindu, many says that Christian is the best religion we ever have. SOme says that Jesus will fulfill whatever our dream is. SOme says even chronic disease is being cured when we follow christainity. Is it true?
Few days back, i met one woman who has a disable son of 7 years. That women told me that she was HIndu before and now she has changed her religion to christain. She told me that after being Christain, her disable son started speaking and walking, as before he could not even able to
stand. Her drunkard husband stopped dringking and became good man. It is true with you all too? AFter know this, iam really encouraged to change my relegion from Hindu to CHristain. Am i right to do so? Please help me. I want to know more about it from your side( Christain friends). Thanks in advance.

You know what as long as you have faith in your religin anything is possible. Honestly I was christian for many years and nothing good came of it. Ever since I switched to Wicca I have felt so much love it is not funny. It was my faith in my religin that helped me find mylot.
As long as you have faith in your religin anything is possible.

Hi Shila. This a very contorversial topic but listen to what I am going to say. NO RELIGION IS BETTER. All religions preach that there is one God. But what is it that all religions try to teach us to do? They all try to teach us the right thing to do....love your family, friends, help people in need. I don't think that changing your religion is the right thing or the answer. You were born a Hindu and I think the best thing you can do is to understand your religion and what it tries to teach you. When you think you understand the basic principles on Hinduism, you can then try and under stand not only Christianity but the teachings of all religions. You would realise that the teachings are very similar. The problems caused by religion starts from one person claiming that their religion is better than others. There is only one God.
For the record, I am a Hindu and I also attended muslim prayers, I've been to church. They all praise God.
Another thing that I personally believe is that your temple or church or mosque is not downtown or a 5 minutes drive, but it is actually in your heart. You can talk to God from absolutely anywhere you are and ask him for forgiveness. Let him know what troubles you or your family or friends and ask him for help. God listens to anyone who talks to Him....regardless of religion.

I love most of your response. You make some very good points, and I think you gave the original poster some great advice. =)
My one criticism is that you said all religions preach that there is one God. There are people within all religions that say "There is one God" or "All Gods are faces of God" but there are religions whose doctrine never says that.

Christianity is no more of a magic panacea than any other belief. Christians, as well as pracitioners of other religions, motivate themselves to change through their beliefs, including the belief that their God will help them. Many/most/all of the stories about "faith-healing" are hoaxes.
Determine what is the best belief system for you. Talk to trusted advisors from both religions before making up your mind. Don't just change because another religion seems sexier.

I am curious if tallpaul really believes that faith healing in itself is just a hoax and is not possible to achieve ? Perhaps the stories of faith healing depicted in the illustrious bible might be classified as hoax but to say all, anywhere written, is adpting a totalitarian view lacking in comparability with other opinions.

i am a Catholic but i don't believe that there are best religions in this World. you alone can answer that, just follow ur heart and believe what u think is correct. no matter what religion you are in as long as u believe on what God you are praying u can also get all the miracles u can't imagine. its not about the religion it is ur belief of God. if you believe that the God you are praying is the most wonderful and powerful in this World, so be it. just have faith, pray and ask for others not for yourself beacuse its not your job to pray for yourself...it is other people's job to pray for you

No body can say one religion is best, cos all religion, at the end say the same thing. That is do good and be good to others plus nature. I am also a Christian and there are instances that people are cured from various diseases, this is mainly due to faith we have on Jesus/God. While I would be very glad to welcome you to my relition, i feel, you mustnt try to change your religion based on the facts given by you. If you really want to change, you must learn about my religion. Its basics and what, christianity is all about. Then, if you are satisfied and if you think you can do good, or better following Jesus Christ, you must convert. You must go to a church and tell the priest that you want to become a Christian. Then there is a procedure to follow. You have to be baptized and follow the regulations accordingly. I wish you all the luck and if you do convert, i wish you'd drop me a note. I am extremely happy to think that i will have another sibling of faith, who would be saved.

I see here, a lot of people from Christianity have given the view that One shouls believe in God. They need not follow either Hinduism or Christianity!I am also a Hindu likeyou. Our religion also teaches the same theme as the Christanity. God is every where. Believe in his power and offer your prayers, you will defenetly be rewarded. Hindisim is the oldest religion and has a lot of guiding paths. I suggest , you have faith in your religion and your wishes will be looked after.!

I don't know if my post will help you a lot in your Christianity path...
I'm from Africa and my religion is Christianity as it's my parents religion. There is nothing that will make me change this religion (it's like a legacy for me).The bible recommend me to respect my parents.
See to it that I believe in God and every single day I have proves that God is always with me and loves me.
I just can't follow the church as it's like an institution that is scamming Humanity from millenniums. There is too much conspiracy in the world and they know about but can't help.
So I'm not a follower,I'm just a believer of God.Is Christianity the best religion or not is not for me the key mother of the day ,all what I know is that from it's beginning in Africa my people have been forced to go to church.
So listen to your heart and be proud of what you are (WHAT you are is WHO you are).
Be very careful of easy miracles,in Africa there's just 100 that happen every day and most are make ups...be careful with miracles nowadays.

hi shila07,
the reality is that you should believe to God that has created the world and humans. it has given to us eyes , hands , feet and so on .that isn't matter what religion you have but worship is important. it is very close to us and we can contact with it.you should ask from it for your needs.

i dont think so. and you know what? i am a christian. but i dont think it is the best religion. coz as long as a certain religion believes in God and His Word (the Bible), then it is a good religion. they all differ only in the way they are interpreted.

Hi Shila,
I am a Hindu. I had a friend who told me about an acquaintance. That acquaintance had a son who used to get fits and although he was a good student his studies used to suffer a lot and his family also suffered mentally. (they were Hindu). They too prayed to Venkateshwara fervently observing some vows and fasts and their son has not had fits for about 2 years now. So, does it mean that only Venkateshwara is the only God?
I would like you to read about the saint Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He is the Guru of the famous Swami Vivekananda. He tried out all religions and found that all religions lead to the same goal. He says "If there is a well of water, and different people come to take water from the well, the water is available to everybody... but the only difference is the name the water gets from the people who come to drink it. One will call it 'water', another will call it 'pani' another will call it 'jal'..etc.. But the water is same and it has the same qualities whatever name you call it. Similarly Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Moses or Allah are all the same God ... people only call it by different names. Religion is a path to find God, and there are many paths to God. One need not change one's religion to find God. Miracles happen in every religion, otherwise there will be no followers in any religion today, and those miracles depend upon the faith, sincerity and goodness of purpose of the believer. By the way, although you claim to be a Hindu, you don't seem to know anything about Hinduism. Forgive me for saying so, but many Hindus today don't know what their religion is all about and hence they go around trying to find what other faiths tell u. Believe me, there is no religion as vast and expansive as Hinduism. It accepts all other religions and is not intent on changing anybody's religion, because it says the religion you are born into is the easiest for you to follow. I would advise you to delve into Hinduism first and find out what it says before you try to change your religion. And I would definitely like to add one more thing... The Supreme Being cannot be bound by a religion, no one can say 'Mine is the only true religion and others are all false'. God is the creator of this Universe and every thing, living or in-sentient has a base in Him. All are God's children and the truly Merciful God does not show any partiality in His Grace. Merely finding yourself in awe of miracles will take you nowhere. Ask yourself what it is that you want to find in a religion and then take real measures to find it, and you will definitely succeed. Wishing you the very best...

I don't think you have to change for that reason, just if you also trust on Christ, keep them both as we discussed in my posts. I don't think it is good to take a religion for personal proffits such as fulfill dreams, but rather to express your feelings about the universe. I've seen miracles coming truth from different religions and also from mixed religions, so this is not what actually matter, their difference is just the name we give to God/Gods. By the way, I would be happy if you explain me a little about hindu gods and further how you mix your religions.

everyone is entitled to their own opinions and to their level of faith to their respective religions. i am a christian, a roman catholic to be exact. it does not necessarily mean that when your religion is different from ours, you are not entitled to salvation. we only have one God even though we practice different kinds of religion but basically, we all do worship only one God may it be in different forms or images. as long as you have faith in Him and really believe in Him, there is a great possibility that He will be able to grant what you wish for may you be a hindu or christian. i don't know anything about hinduism and don't know if we do worship the same God but i have read the name of Jesus in your post so, i guess that would mean that you do believe in Him. anyway, if you are really sure you want to be converted, then i guess there is nothing wrong with it.

Are you saying that you're changing your religion because it did happen to others? Christ our God cannot be mocked nor bribed, He knows your very heart, even the deepest things in your heart. The experience happened in the woman you've mentioned was caused by her faith to Jesus Christ. It's a matter of faith. This proves that God is a living God, He will respond no matter what to prayers/needs of His followers. Christianity is basically based on relationship, a relationship based on trust and faith of a Christian to his God. Acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, is the key to eternal life. When you've done this wholeheartedly, Christ will forgive all your sins, renewed your thoughts and perceptions, protects you from all harm and will guide you as well as bless you and your family.

Your question really touches me. I am a Christian (Presbyterian to be specific), and I believe in the four gospels. And there have been times in my life where sequences of events have involved a bit too much "coincidence" to be mere coincidence. I know there is a God in my life, and I know that He works in my life, but I could not tell you what His name is, or His story.
In the Holy Bible, the book of Corinthians talks about "gifts of the holy spirit." Some of these gifts include prophesying, healing, speaking in foreign tongues, interpreting foreign tongues, and a few others. The very last sentence in 1 Corinthians, chapter 13 says, "But the most important of these is love."
I found the God of my understanding by asking Him to reveal Himself to me. I started going to church when I was fourteen, and I was "agnostic." I was willing to believe, but I wanted proof. The pastor told me to pray anyway, even if I didn't believe. He told me to ask for guidance and revelation. I did this, and God revealed Himself to me two years later.
Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to "love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and love thy neighbor as thyself." I suggest you strive to achieve this quality throughout your life. In the meantime, get down on your knees and pray for His guidance. Say to Him, whatever His name may be, that you desire to know Him better, and to dwell in His presence. Tell Him that you believe He has put you here for a purpose, and that it is your desire to fulfil that purpose. Tell Him you want to please Him, and ask Him to show you how. Most importantly, have faith that He will answer this prayer. God bless.

You know Shila I am a christian, my parents were christians and Christianity is a good religion because it is founded by Jesus Christ, but choosing ones religion? nobody can tell you what religion is the best.Only you who can decide either you will convert to christianity or not, have some reflections and ask Gods to help you decide. Remember Shila that THERE IS NO RELIGION WHO CAN SAVE YOUR SOUL. Take care!!

Huh, this is a very good question. I myself am Christian but no, I will not call it a "best" religion. I don't think there's a "best" religion, because religion isn't like... 'pick this one, you get the most out of this one'.
I'm taking a world religion class and I'm learning about other religions. Christianity is believing in one god and only one god. We also believe in jesus, too. If you think about it..we also have alot of rules. This isn't just 'religion' you see, it's a way to live life by. By no meens to you HAVE to follow those rules, no one is going to condemn you for it.. But instead, you have to decide yourself, will you follow those rules?
The same goes for any other religion. =p
I suggest you stay true to yourself, and ask yourself.. What do you believe is right, and what do you feel is best for yourself.

I am a Christian myself. And never had any doubt about being one. Miracles do happen to each and everyone. Even to Hindus. I believe Hindus never teaches anything against the "good will". And I also believe that its values and teachings are also the same as what we Christians have. It is how you live your life with it. Its how you believe in its teachings that counts not what you see in other religions.
But most importantly, why become a Christians and leave Hindus? I am a Christian, a Roman Catholic Christian. I believe theres Heaven and I wanted to go there after this life on earth. And thats the reason, my goal why I stayed on to be a Christian. What about you?
God bless you shila!
