I remember when my grandmother was alive she use to put up stuff in jars and freeze things in bags. Some of the best foood I ever ate came from a jar she put up herself. Vegetables. fruits. We would make big pots of vegetable soup and put it in jars. What do you do?

-raises hand- I do, I do. I have a relatively small garden but I grow alot of veges in it. What I don't freeze/dry, goes to the neighbors which is usually a lot. I'm almost out of basil after 6yrs. so going to be planting a couple this year to dry out for the next 6yrs. I don't use a ton of it but it keeps well in the freezer.

We plant and grow potatos, and have a cellar in our basement to store them all winter. We grow corn and freeze it, tomatos are canned and frozen, peppers are canned and frozen, cabbage is frozen, beans are frozen or canned.. We have cherries that are made into jam, pears that we make pear butter, and we also grow herbs which are dried.

I spend a god part of my summer working in my gardens. I grow peas, carrots, radishes, tomatos, potatos, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, For fruits i do raspberries in white and red, might try black this summer. Strawberries, blueberries, currents, rhubarb...
I know im forgetting alot thats a basic of it though. I try to grow enough throughout the summer to keep on hand for winter. Dosent always work that way, but its a try lol.
