Congress MP Rahul Gandhi kicked off the party's campaign in the state on Sunday (March 18) in what will be his first big public appearance outside his constituency of Amethi in his three years as an MP. Rahul embarks on campaign from Ghaziabad on Sunday morning and will visit areas in Muradnagar, Modinagar and Meerut on the first day in what is being seen as a three day mission to rebuild the Congress party in the cowbelt. The Congress has suffered some serious set backs in Uttar Pradesh recently and delays in ticket distribution have only added to its woes.
