praying to god

Any one suggest me praying to god for our needs is good practice.Anybody has acheived anything by doing so............

I pray to god to gather peace in mind. I feel good when I pray waise I don't generally pray a lot but to keep myself concetrated I keep on repeating OM word like for some thousand times.

I accept it.But you ever pray for any of your requirements to get fulfilled.
