why the discussion relted to some hypothetical situation are always on top??

i am noticing this phenomenon from past few weeks. that a discussion describing hypothetical condition and asking suggestions on that are always on top and get more responses.but the real discussion what we do in real life such as politics,cricket game,economy etc. these discussions never get more responses here. by the way i like to congratulate mylot users for their creative thinking of hypothetical situations.
