if you late for work ,what would you say to your boss?

one winter morning,an employee explained why he had shown up fro work 45 minutes late ."it was so slippery out that for every step i took ahead ,i slipped back two."
the boss eyed him suspiciously ."oh, yeah? then how did you wver get here?"
"i finally gave up ," he said ,"and started for home"
how about you ?what's you excuse?

Yes, it happens quite often with me LoL. Frankly, I am a little bit lazy in sorting out routine matters like ironing the clothes for morning, polishing my shoes, taking a long shower etc. I mostly do these things in the morning at 11th hour and sometimes this makes me to much embarrassed. Well, while boss ask the reason I tell him the truth and thats all. Now, I think boss is almost familiar with reasons for late and whenever I come before the expected time he asks me the reason Hahaha ;)

If I'm late at work , I would tell boss what exactly happened if it's genuine reason . Other wise will make excuse of tyre puncture ,wife not well, had to leave kid to school as he missed his bus , no water at residence manymore .
