ebay horror stories

Has anyone out there had a real bad experience with either selling or buying through ebay? Maybe you've paid a lot of money for an item and not received it or you've sold an item for what you think is a great price only for the buyer not to may up!

No i havent bought or sold anything using ebay but i am trying to understand how to buy and sell so that i can use it in the future.
