For me sending delegates to sports competitions enables a country to show to other nations that it is in unison with them in their aim to achieve world peace. Joining Olympic games and the like gives participating countries a chance to foster good will and friendship among other countries.

International sports such as, the olympics is a good way to get people from different countries to be together and sort of have fun at the same time. however, sports nowadays do create competitive environments and if not properly managed could damage relationship between countries. For example, if the host country did not stick to the idea of fair play, this could cause undesirable outcome to the whole game and thus affecting the respect or good feelings between countries.

I think that's one of the little ways to foster camaraderie with other nations. But I'm not counting on it. There are far more root cause of dissension that needs more than Olympics and such. We need more conferences to reach a peace agreement. Written documents weighs more than anything else combined.

Probably isn't the best way, but it's an incentive to the globalization of the world.
The sport and his pain, his strong, his work, is only a good example for every man in the world.
But wars and caresty and poor people will not improve their live watching sports.
It's a big big problem...
