I think mainly the Canadians and more so the ppl in Ontario will understand this because it was such a HUGE story when it happened...How do you feel about a movie being made about Karla HOlmolka, from her perspective?? Its NOT A DOCUMENTARY! its a fiction flick based on the murders etc etc...I'd heard that it was being made about a yr ago but there was such an uproar about it I honestly didnt think they'd go through wtih it and actually put it out ya know....Well sure enough, they did....its called Karla and I've not seen it yet but plan to.. Any thoughts on it? Personally I wish they would do a movie from the perspective of the victims...I think Karla was a time bomb just waiting to go off and I think that her lies about Paul (Bernardo, her husband) forcing her to participate is just that LIES...I was actually working not far from where all this was goin down and whle the manhunt was goin on for Holmolka and Bernardo and I'll tell ya..St.Kitts (St.Catharines) was in a total chaos.... Do you think that movies like this should be made? Should the criminal, if they've served their time, be paid at all for movies based on their crimes etc? (Karla as far as I know is NOT being paid)

The thought that Karla Holmolka could benefit from her crimes makes me sick to my stomach. I think she got off way too easy as it was. Whether she gets paid actual money for such a film or not I think she would benefit because anything told from her point of view is going to paint her in a sympathetic light and she doesn't deserve people to feel sorry for her. They can say what they like about dependent personalities and psychological persuasion, but the woman killed her own sister. I remember following the story in the papers here in Nova Scotia thinking that she was a great schemer. I'll never feel that she has served her time and the fact that she has a baby scares the you know what out of me. She is a monster and shouldn't be allowed to raise her baby to become a monster. He is an innocent victem in this all.

I don't live in Canada, but I know plenty about the story and I don't she think she even deserves a movie like this. Especially not so soon, they could have at least waited a little while longer. As much as true crime interests me, I'll never understand this disgusting need of Hollywood to make nearly every story into a big huge movie. There's no need, not at all. Criminals should definitely not be paid, it would just be blood money, just horrible.

I'm not surpised Hollywood will make a movie about it. They made movies about pretty much everything these days. I really hope Karla is not paid, since she is not in any way an actress and a criminal already so it would anegr tax payers if she does get paid and live rich on it! As far as making the movie, I don't think it should be made, but if they do anyway (which of course more likely they will) I hope they would not turn her into a victim or something because she is a criminal and not a mental illness victim or abuse whatever!

I think the movie should not be made, especially not from her perspective, after all what are they going to go by her story? If so everyone know's it is a load of crap. From what I understand Karla will not make a penny from this movie, which is as it should be. I am going to be honest and say I may end up watching it though. The curiosity would make me seriously consider it.

Yea I'm really curious myself to be perfectly honest...I read Lethal Marriage about the two of them and the case and she was no angel right from a young child so I'm really curious to see where they take it in this movie considering it is apparently from "her perspective"....

This is such a tragic story. I do not think the movie should have been made from her perspective but like you suggested, from the perspective of the victims. Its good that she will never be able to just blend into society...raising awareness about Karla is a good idea but like everything else Hollywood will sensationalize the story and of course cash in big time. I know curiosity will take over and eventually I will watch the movie however I will not add to the box office ratings by watching it in a theatre. I would like to think a large portion of the proceeds of this movie should go to the victims families. A charity of their choice or set up a scholarship in their name...use the money generated from this film for something worth while I'm appalled that child services allows her to have custody of a child. Yes she served her time but that doesn't make capable or worthy of raising a child.

This woman should never have seen the light of day after what she did...and to have a baby??...and now there is a movie about her told from her point of view??..she has no point of view, she was found guilty and sentenced, and she should never have been let out of jail to begin with...anyone that knows this crime...the horrible things she helped do to these poor girls...even knowing that her husband is up for parole in 25 years is too early...some animals need to be in cages...
