i used an old calligraphy pen like the ones that i had for art lessons in secondary school recently. to write wedding invitations! i heard that in the US people pay big bucks for a professional calligrapher to write their invites. I just did it in the best way i could and all my friends and relatives were so impressed to see their names (only their names - the rest of the invite was printed of course, I'm not about to spend days just writing) in real calligraphy ink instead of ballpoint pen! it was fun.

Same here....I've addressed envelopes and put names on diplomas. The first time I did this for a friend's wedding invitations, her family couldn't believe I did them. Now they've got me writing little scrolls for their church groups, writing names in their bibles, etc.
It had always been something of an idle pasttime for me in the back of the classroom while everyone else was learning biology or something. Calligraphy has caused me to meet more people, get involved in events in their lives...and more importantly, invited to parties with free food!

I have just practiced the different styles of lettering. I was really into it for a while. Now I don't have that much time anymore, however, I hope to get into it again one day.

Oh yes, calligraphy is my favorite style of lettering. When I was a kid I wished so bad that my handwriting would come out in the calligraphy style. LOL. I envy the handwriting in the old days, it’s like, they were born to have good hand writing. Whenever I’m doing a project on my pc, I always use the calligraphy for my title page. It just looks nice.

i think calligraphy is a very creative media in arts many of the greatest calligraphic paintings have been found back in islamic art the arabic calligraphy i think is my most favourite and it really attracts me alot the names of GOD when written in such wonderful styles on canvas i feel those paintings by heart and out of this world i think the most beautiful calligraphy is done in arabic language
