How can I teach my blue and gold macaw to talk?

Her name is deisel. I know it's a funny name for a female but we named her before we found out her gender. She will be 2 years old in June. The only thing I have so far taught her to do is whistle. I was wondering whether anyone has any suggestions, besides repeating the same word over and over again, that might help. Or is she still a little too young?

A friend of mine has a grey the way he taught his bird to speak is by when he went to work in the am he would put on nick for the bird within a few weeeks the bird was reciteing dora the explerer.
