Long distance internet relationships

I have a friend that lives in Augusta, GA. We've been chatting on the internet for about 5 years...would it be safe to move forward? Hypothetically speaking.

When you said long distance internet relationships it caught my attention. I had a long distance relationship while I lived in Alaska. My sweetie lived in Scotland. Now that is long distance! We met over the internet. We got married in 2001 after knowing each other for a little over a year. I moved to Scotland to be with him. I am proof that these kind of relationships work.
If you feel that the time is right for you, then go for it.
