I had someone disappear like a theif in the night, in her wake she left behind a two year old cat to starve to death. I found the poor baby and brought her home. The problem is that she and my other cat and dog and not getting along very well. Does it take a long time for them to be friends? Is there anything I can do to help the process along the hissing and spiting is getting on my nerves.

Keep your other cat and dog away from the one you found for awhile. There's nothing you do to help the process. They will get used to the idea of having another cat around. It will take time.

I kept them seperate for three days, now I just have the cats together. My cat really wants to be friends she was raised with other animals so she seems very confused why this new cat is being so mean. I hope she gets over it soon I would hate to have to put her up for adoption my daughter loves her so.

I don't know if the new cat has been around other animals or not but I think the new cat is afraid of getting hurt and doesn't know that your cat won't hurt her.

It just take some time. My family had two cats and my sister couldn't have hers at summer (she lived elsewhere), so she bring hers cat to the family. First cats didn't get along, but after summer all cats were friends. They get along even so well that when sister take hers cat back to home, cat didn't want to live there anymore. She had to give hers cat back to family so that cat could live happily.
