Have you ever dealt with debt reduction/elimination companies?

Have you ever dealt with one of the debt reduction places? I have been thinking about doing a bancruptcy but this debt place called. They promise 55 cents on the dollar or less negotiated by them with my creditors will actually improve my credit. I tried to find information on this place thru the Better Business Bureau but they don't have any information on the one that contacted me. Has anyone heard of F.I.R.E.?

Be careful, some of those places will hurt your credit more than help it. If it' isn't listed with the better business bureau I wouldn't use it.
