how much tv is too much?

I, myself dont like watching tv at all so i would give a miaximum of 1 hour during weekdays and the same during weekends, i would prefer my child goes out and does some outdoor playing specially on weekends.

My son is 4- I do preview everything he watches and for the most part he watches videos not television (to minimize the commercials & the "I wants"). I try to keep it to one show that's around an hour long each day, but sometimes I get caught up in studying or housework and he will pop in a second movie himself. Of course it's still winter here (Massachusetts)and we spend too much time indoors,in the spring & summer we often go days without watching television so I feel it all evens out.

Yes I do limit them to 1 1/2 hours a day during the week and on the weekend it really does vary. We do monitor the shows because we did watch them or we are in the kitchen when it is on and we can see it.
