Sued by the RIAA

I have been following the RIAA's actions for a few years now. I am a music fan and am into digital music and file sharing. Understanding that trading copyrighted music is illegal and all I think the RIAA's methods are extreme. Instead of suing people I think they need to overhaul the revenue and distribution system for music. I have not been nor do I personally know anyone who has been sued by the RIAA. I was wondering if any of you have or know someone who has and could share that experience. Thanks.
