Well, last night i get to bed late, and i just get to sleep, and about 1:30 my ears perk and i wake to a screaming kitten, my gosh, the lungs on that sucker!!!
Well, i searched to find him because the mother was running around trying to keep the others away from checking him out, and i find him right under my bed.
I took him out and put him in a little drawer with a towel in to keep him warm and bring the mum over.
Well see this girl was wild, we brought her around but still every batch of kittens she has ever had were born where we couldn't find them, suddenly, she wanted someone.
She wouldn't let me leave her side, for hours and hours i would try and go to bed, and she would follow me or grab me with her claws.
So i stayed with her, keeping her company and talking to her, moving the kitten when it was time to push and what not. She seemed to love the help.
I fell asleep on the floor and woke to 3 of the little buggers, i was only actually awake for the second one.
Have you ever had a cat that stopped half way through having her babies?
Well, 5:00 this morning there were 3 of them.
just about half an hour ago, the 4th came out, she's got at least one more in there, more than likely 2 from what i can feel.
I had one other cat that would do this, it's so unique, and i feel so lucky and i guess special to be the first one she let near her while she was giving birth.
Noe every once in a while she'll look at me and meow, I'll go over, pet her and the kittens and she's good again.
She's even letting me take them all over the bedroom, I'm her little babysitter, and she's a wonderful mom.
Stories please!!!
I'm excited here.
She's got 3 Siamese, and 1 black and white, so far :D YAY!

i've never seen my cat Spot really give birth and she was actually asking help that time, only we were about to go out when she was in labor. i noticed that she had something black around her rear (might be blood) before i left the house. when i came home that night, she kept meowing and it was as if she were asking me to come with her to our neighbors' back yard. it was then that i discovered that she had given birth to four kitties. i had to wait till morning in order to move the kitties over to my house. i was able to watch this in Discovery Channel and cats really help other female cats when they are giving birth. and since they consider us as bigger cats lolz thats why she asked you for assistance in her delivery. congratz for the new kitties!

Long ago and far away, I assisted Mona Cat Fraser in her delivery of four beautiful kitties -- one girl, two boys, and one we were never quite sure of... The first one out seemed to be a breach, so I went to the phone and called the vet for advice. And Mona Cat followed me, with baby half-in half-out. (The vet said to take a wet washcloth and pull gently on the kitty's leg to assist.) I put Mona Cat back in the maternity ward and the kitty popped out. So did #2, #3 & #4. It only took half an hour. How efficient.
I experienced such a feeling of peace and well-being when my "grand kitties" were being born. Three were eventually adopted out to friends, but the one we weren't quite sure of stayed home with mom. At first we thought he was a boy, so named him Alfie (Alfalfa J. Sprouts) but he never really matured sexually. He was a darling boy, though.

I've actually never seen kittens born. But when I picked up Solo's mom she was having trouble giving birth & I had to take her to the vet to get help. they finally preformed a c-section/spay on mom to get Solo out, he was one BIG kitten, mom was one little cat.
So, the vet took her home that night because she was concerned for her & had Solo away from his mom until he screamed so loud she finally put him in with his mother & told her to take care of him.
Solo survived, but mom was a pretty tipical teenage mother, and didn't do a real good job. She was more interested in playing with the bigger kitten in the room with her than taking care of her son. Oh, well, I found her another home & kept Solo.

Hey, congrats on your new family!! Once upon a time, many years ago, I lived in a large house with many cats. It all started with Jessie, the female who was always pregnate. There were a couple of favorite spots for our cats to have their babies and one of them was in my closet. Whereas we had so many cats, it was common for new mothers to move their kittens to a new location shortly after they were born. Sooooooo, one night, I heard my brother quietly entering my room and when I opened my eyes, I could see him gently putting a kitten in my closet. I guessed that the new mom must have been moving her babies. Well, it was discovered the next day that I had an extra kitten in my closet. Upon investigation, we found out that another one of our cats had kittens in my brother's closet and that's where the "extra" one came from.

My kitten had kittens (there are a lot of male cats around here that people dont keep indoors or anything) but they all came out the size of mice & had to be put down :( Anyway, she had 3 in the garden shed - so i brought them down & everything was fine, that was near 9am & then when i went out to check on her later in the day (near 4:30pm) she was in the process of having #4 - i thought it was kind of strange but that's how it went!
That same cat then had 3 more just 3 months ago & every time she saw me near the area, she would leave the babies, come running to me, meowing & purring, wanting love, then she'd go back to the kittens but never take her eyes off me. It was almost as though she needed me there for approval or something, it was very cute but after a while i had to stop going outside coz the kittens would get hungry & she wouldn't go back unless i wasn't around.
Kittens are great aren't they?
Good Luck!!!

Expectant queens usually give signs before going into labor. Our queen usually assigns a nurse to help her clean her kittens. She does this by dragging the assigned nurse by the scruff and licking the nurse. The queen then finds a comfortable spot and just sits and meows there until she gives birth. Once the kittens are out, the queen should bite (and eat) through the protective film that surrounds the kittens. After the last kitten comes out, the placenta usually follow after some time, she eats this as well. The queen then goes on a cleaning marathon to make her new kittens squeaky clean! =)

Cats are so self suffficient, they can "put off" their labour if need be for any reason. Its so sweet that she wanted you there.
I remember when I was a child I had a cat like that, but I fell asleep and woke up in the morning with 4 slimy wriggly things on my pillow...lol.

Sounds like you have your hands full now girl, I had something similar happen to me but it was a dog and not a cat, whenever I would go out of sight of our dog "Mindy" she would cry for me, i had never seen an animal give birth in real life like that before, fair to say it disgust me a little bit because I didn't really know what to expect as it was a few years back...but she had three slimy healthy puppys who turned out to be quite adorable, and many of my friends wanted them. i eventually gave the three of them away, even tho the new mommy missed them so much...

wow congrats!!! I've found a cat on our building that is pregnant but since i'm having a male cat and keep on bugging her and don't get along together as she's a bit wild. Maybe because she's pregnant or has been on the street for a long time. We took her to my friend who owns a pet shop and their she gave birth to 5 healthy kittens and they are so lovely. Wish i could see a cat giving birth.
