I am so frustrated. I phoned the doctor for my dad yesterday as he needs a letter to qualify for a program. I told them exactly what I needed and to call ME if they had any problems. They turn around today and call my father (who has Alzheimers) and get him all worked up because he doesn't understand. Then, the topper is they didn't do the letter. I am so sick and tired of RUDE people in doctors offices of all places....What the heck is wrong with these people !!!!!

You hit the nail on the head. A few weeks back I had asked my sons Doctors office to mail me his perscription. Well, there was some sort of problem or something so they called me to ask a question. For whatever reason, they said that my phone # was disconnected (which it was not and they even ended up reading me my phone number) so they called his fathers number. Well, my son doesn't live with his dad so he didn't know what perscription they were talking about (not that he was going to be angry, he just wanted to know). When he asked them what perscription the lady said she couldn't tell him, that she needed to talk to me. So of course he gets all upset thinking it's something bad, he starts getting angry because they won't tell him anything except that my # is disconnected. That even makes him worry more. ow and behold he calls my # and it works. Amazing. He starts asking me all kinds of questions and I finally explained to him that it was his usual medicine but I was having them mail it instead of picking it up. All this mess. She must have just dialed my # wrong. I called them back and told them not to call him anymore and that my # isn't disconnected because I was calling her from that #. UGH!

Honestly sometimes I think people don't think-- They are in such a hurry that they just grab a phone number and try to resolve the issue they are dealing with at that moment.
I'm sorry your dad got worked up.. I hope you called them and got it straight that they are to call you with questions or problems. Possibly have them put it right in his file- Do not call this number- Perhaps this will work. If they keep messing up- ask to speak with the office manager- Maybe they can help.

I sympathise! I hope you call them and inform them of their mistake! Perhaps they need yelling at, although I know that shouldn't be the first response, but the fact is they did get your father all worked up and they shouldn't have done that when you specifically told them to call you if they had any problems! I don't understand why people behave like that in some doctors' offices. You would think they should be more considerate because they are after all dealing with people who are in distress because of illnesses or whatever. Maybe they need training! Or accountability! Because they seem to lack integrity! Just because there is no one to watchman their actions they don't treat people the way they should be treated. That is sad!
