pink lines on big screen no picture

there are pink lines on my screen but no picture will show. when i turn the channel the numbers show up perfectly also the volume too. the sound is fine.i have a hitachi big screen tv.

I have personally seen such problem with hitachi tv i have one at my home also with the same problem .I persume the picture tube is not working.I hope Brand incharges of Hitachi corporation is watching our post
