Nah .. right from an early age my parent asked us if we would like an Easter Egg (very expensive and not much chocolate) .. or a bag of fruit (even more expensive then and much rarer than chocolate in the 50's !) ..
Both my sister and I always had the fruit .. yummy !!
I did the same with my own children .. once they were old enough to make the choice they could have a new game of toy .. or an Easter Egg .. choice was theirs and no pressure from us .. every year they chose the toy or game ..

That sounds like a lot of fun. I've never made chocolate eggs-but I'm sure I could find some little chocolate "muncher monsters" around here to gobble them up. LOL Thanks for the idea.

I started making candy when my son started school. My Mom alwasys made candy, and she suggested that it would be good idea for school parties, I have made candy ever since. I make fillings, in particular a peanut marshamallow filling that everyone love.

I have not made my own eggs. I did share a recipe a la Martha Stewart that used blown out chicken eggs to make chocolate egg molds. You got the joy of shopping and buying those molds from Ebay. Way to go!
Vrhonna chocolate was the prescribed type in the recipe from Martha Stewart. Hope your come out beautifully and that they are enjoyed by your family.
