I have these backpains sometimes and, the trouble is, they're killing me. How about you? How do you deal with them? What do you do to be rid of them? I need your advice I am suffering from one right now.

I broke my back twice, so I deal with a lot of back pain. I empathize with you. Usually heat helps it, and I take a muscle relaxer, and when needed a pain killer. I have gone the physical therapy route, and it did not help me. In fact, it seemed to aggravate it more. I have noticed through the years, it isn't as bad as it use to be. But when it flares up, it is awful.

My mother told me that I will have to deal with sorts of body pains time and again. This is due to the fact that I met a bad accident when I was a child and it affected much of my bone structure. And I agree with you that when the pains strike, it is indeed awful. It is good though that your condition has eased up somehow.

Yes, I have experienced back pains. Most of it was cause because of my sudden increase of weight causing me to carry more fat on my belly, thus misaligning my back. However, the pain is not severe, just a dull thudding ache. The way I got rid of it was by losing weight and doing exercises that stretches the back muscles.
One train of thought believe that if you have back pains its cause by money problems or worries about security. I thought I'll throw in that little detail just for fun.
Seriously, if the pain is really too much, maybe you should see a medical practitioner.

Well I use lintiments or muscles rubs to help, like Bengay or icyhot. That can help especially if you have someone who can rub it in for you. Using a heating pad can help. It depends a lot on the person. For some ice works better and for others heat does. I find heat does for me because ice makes it worse. I do use over the counter meds when it gets bad, actually right now I have a perscription for pain meds for when it gets really bad but for a long time I dealt with just over the counter like Tylenol.
If this is a sudden onset and you didn't injure your back you might want to check what shoes you are wearing. If you switched recently it could be the shoes that are causing it. I have had shoes make mine worse and I've known others to have issues with different types. Also changes in chairs or bedding can effect it. Sometimes even just flipping an older mattress can make it better. Some things to check anyways.

these are good inputs again from you, emeraldisle. i will surely take a good look at those shoes and i'd better start considering putting aside the uncomfortable ones. although i have made it a habit to pick the most comfortable ones whenever i buy shoes, there are pairs which just simply become quite uncomfortable after sometime of use.

My first aid to backpain is "IBUFROPEN", then I apply SALONPAS to the affected area. If the pian is still there, my last resort is to go to my chiroprator. He treated my pain excellently. Backpains that can't be remedied has different causes. But usually it is caused by some dislocation of the ligaments, or some joints from the backbone. Only the chiroprator can correct it. Unfortunately, we have very few chiroprator-doctors here in the Philippines. And most of these licensed chiropractors graduated from US. My Chiropractor is Dr. Camara. His Clinic is at Makati and Ort6igas.

I agree with you that there are so few chiropractors in the Philippines. There's one here in Davao City and had consulted with him once but, he has relocated and I don't have any idea where he is holding clinic right now. Maybe he has transferred to Manila since there are a few who finds need for his services here. I'll consult with one once I pay another visit in Manila. Thanks for the suggestion.

since i do not personally know any yoga expert, i bought two yoga cd's. yes, it is effective in easing the backpains and in getting all the sweat out. nice feeling after all those toxins are extracted from the body through sweating.

OK the best thing that works for me and the neurologist said it would help and sure enough relief...lay on your stomach and ice your lower back for about 20 mins or longer if you can stand it then apply a heating pad for the same amount of time you will be amazed how much your muscles relax..just a suggestion that works for me

Thank you so much for the information, kaperkitty. I hope this works for me because, the pain runs up to the face and head and is really unbearable. I am used to taking painrelievers but they are getting less effective after time.

well, you need to find out what's causing your back pains. in my case, it's my poor posture that gives me backpains. my doctor only advised me not to slouch and to be conscious of how i stand or sit, because the pains will just go away or be reduced when my posture improves. so i wasn't given any medication at all.

If the backpains getting worse on you then you will need to see doctor immediately. Here in Australia backpain is considered to be a serious incident and the employees will be asked to take sick leave immediately and told to consult doctor. Depending on the employer, workers are not expected to return to work until the backpain is properly treated. Employers (especially in labour industry) need to watch it carefully as failing to ask workers to get treatment the employer can be fined for millions.

Yes, I have come across it when I had been doing readings about Australia. I have the impression that it is only in your country where this condition is being considered seriously. I am seeing a doctor about this, however I have decided that it will be better if I try other ways which will help in alleviating my condition. Thank you very much for your word. I am taking it very well.

If you don't mind may I ask you few questions related to your backache.
Are you over-weight?
Is your abdomin very high?
Do you tightan the belt too tight on your abdomin?
Do you work for more than 12 hours a day sitting in a uncomfortable chair?
Do you have to lift the heavy loads durring your routine work?
Is your bed too soft with 8inches foam or even more?
Have you checked up your back bone X-Ray from a physician?
If your reply is "YES" to any ONE of the above questions
then the backache problem has to be there.
Please add a comment in which do mention what exactly is wrong with you and expect a remedy from me soon.
Wish you a rescue from the pain you are suffering from.
oarnamav.

There is only one item of the questions above to which I can say yes, I am overweight. Once I got to be 70 kilograms, my tendency to slouch, has increased dramatically. I have also a problem with cold temperatures. Whenever the air is a little too cold for me, like when it rains for hours, I get these backache and headache all at once. I have been suffering from this from childhood till now. I am looking forward to receiving your advice on this regard.

I used to have back pains from sitting long hours in front of a computer. I used to take over the counter medicines for it, but since my friend gave me a biomagnetic bracelet from amegaglobal I seldom get back pains anymore. Just after 5 minutes of using it the pain is gone like magic. Though the effects vary from every patient others felt the effect after a few days, but it really works.

I would advise to put some lotion which is a pain reliever.this would temporarily ease up the pain you feel in your back. Then take some medicines for pain reliever. It would definitely ease the burden that you feel in your back.Just try it and you will amaze the effectiveness of it.

This has been my ritual since as a child. Including those tuba tuba leaves and atis leaves heated and applied at the back and chest. Really helps. I want to find a way to be rid of the use of antibiotics and painkillers which the doctor prescribes time and again. Thank you very much for your kind thoughts on this, romel.

I injured my back about two years ago in a sports accident. At the time I was off work for 6 weeks but generally it's not so bad now. I have problems sitting down for long periods. I don'tlike taking painkillers unless I really have to but I decided to start Remedial Yoga (although I don't believe in all the philosophy behind it) I do it purely for gentle streching exercises and have found it makes a real difference and has made my back pain free again. You could also try Pilates

Yes, Yoga can really do a lot of good. I'll try to see if I can have a DVD copy of pilates, I've heard that it is also good. Thanks for the input.

I have backpains too from carrying heavy stuffs many yrs back. everyday since then i have to do stretches for my back before i get out of bed. when u sit up from bed, put ur legs down on the floor and work side ways up. read ur posture when u sit and stand. correct urself when u find that you are slouching. just do more stretches..they work wonders.
