Men...honestly is it a mind thing, or What... why would or wouldn't you get a vasectomy instead of your significant other typing tubes?

Its good now, as partner had one after I gave birth to our 4th child. At the time of healing, his balls were the size of oranges and he thought he would never get over it, (what a sook hee hee!!) and 9 mnths on, so far so good, no surprises. Also, men are allowed to go ahead at any age where as women have to wait til they are nearly 30 to get thier tubes tied, and they need thier partners consent (Dumb!) to go ahead with the procedure.

Here in Ohio you only have to be 21 or have 3 children to have a tubal. I had a c-section so I told them to just do it while they were in there, lol.

Yes it is better. Less torture. It is always good and it can be reconnected within 5 years if required

I would prefer my husband to have a vasectomy as it is a little snip, rather than major surgery on my behalf.

yes it is a mind thing, having a vasectomy is way LESS EVASIVe than a women going in to have her tubes tied. if she is having a c section then it is easier to just have the tubes tied at that time, but healing is still a longer recovery time for the woman....if not, it just makes more sense for the guy to go in and get it snipped. It is fairly painless procedure, and recovery time is NOTHING compared to woman going in for tubes tied. For a woman it is a major surgery...for a guy it is just walk in office procedure. so MEN BUCK IT UP, if you are done having children there is no harm in you going in and just getting snipped, it is not going to make you any less of a man. My dad went in right away and had no problem with it. It was the best form of birth control he and my mom ever did.

I'm actually thinking about it as a way to assure we don't have any unexpected children. It's a lot safer for me to have a procedure like that than my wife having surgery to get her tubes tied.

I got pregnant with my twins while I was on birth control and we didnt want to take any more chances. Even when a woman has a tubal ligation there is still a slight chance she could get pregnant but it would be ectopic and she would have to have surgery to have it removed. My husband didnt want to take that chance, so he got a vasectomy AND I got a tubal just for that extra precaution! No more worries, ever! He said it wasnt really as bad as expected. He was sore for a few days, but was fine after that!

It's mcuh easier for men to do it because it's less complicated and could go back to normal easily if the need arises.

Both my father and my son have had vasectomies. My Mom was unable to have an operation, so Dad had a vasectomy after their 4th child was born. The way the doctor put it made my Dad understand how much easier it was for him to have this done than for my Mom to go through surgery. Same with my son after he and his wife had their third child.

My hubby did it and its wonderful. we can just screw away with no worries what so ever. we weighed the options after we had our 2nd child and we were like, we got one boy and one girl that is all we need. we also did alot of research and it is just medically easier for the man instead of the woman.
