enjoy music. It calms me when I am stressed and keeps me awake when I need to be awake. I am not sure that some of the music on the radio today can really be called music. I love those old tunes. Simon & Garfungel , Neil Diamond and CCR. Remember those old but good songs. Well there is a site online that still has these and many more songs.
To listen to music, you can either select a year from the list or you can scroll down and browse through the featured artist collections. You can also check out the category selections as well. So, here are your options that are available from the site, they are broken down a little bit.
Yearly
Select a year to hear popular music from that year. For example, if you click 1960, you are going hear the sound styles that were popular back then. The yearly selection goes from 1955 to 1979.
They have a different featured artist each week and they can be found on the main page, but to find past featured artists, check out this section. It will provide you with a listing of artists to choose from and to listen to.
Additional Collections
This is where you will find categories of music you can listen to, like Country, Show Tunes, Classical, Movie Themes and many more.
The jukebox will open in another window once you’ve selected which playlist you want to hear. You can leave it play in the background while you get your work done on the computer, while you shop or just while you browse.
You can find this music at this link

Have fun and enjoy.

Old songs are not things of the past. In fact, they are something to look back to to rewind and unwind for. I dig songs as old as 70's up. When I was kid I so loved Connie Francis songs!

I love to listen to old music, as it puts my head gear into a nice time without stress. I heard on the news last night, to be careful of links and downloading music on line, as the hackers love to give viruses to those areas, along with films. Just thought I might mention that too you. Thanks for a lovely post my friend. + as always.

I don't usually listen to music very often. But tonight I really enjoyed American Idol, they were singing songs of the 60's during the british invasion, a lot of memories, and I find the kids did the songs really well.

Thanks for the link villageanne!;)
I love music, and I have learned to appreciate music that are from the past but also with good quality. As of now, I'm listening to the 80's because this is were most of my favorites artists are.
Groups, duos or solo artists like Eagles, Billy Joel, America, Seals and Croft, Bread and Air Supply are one of the greatest influences of mine.

First of all I want to say thank you for the link.
I love music. When ever I feel bore and depressed I listen to some good music and it makes me feel better. I think old songs are far better than those coming out these days. In old song you can find melody and also very good lyrics.

I do something very similar with my itunes site with teh 'radio' function. I am a fan of the '70s and '80s music. The itunes site doesn't feature an artist though. I will check out your link, as I would love to be able to make my own playlist! I also have sirius radio on my satellite dish service and keep it on almost constantly!! I love music. I heard that the artists are wanting to do away with online radio sites and are really moving swiftly to get it removed.

I don't really enjoy listening to music. Mostly, it bores me. The music goes slow and has no catchiness in it. I can understand how old music can soothe the mind because it's calm. I listen to present day musicians instead.

When you said old music, the thoughts that popped into ,y mind were " either oldies, like my dad listens to or the music that I grew up listening to in the 80's and 90's. When I listen to old stuff I remember how good it was. It's always fun to listen to something that you enjoyed but havent' heard in a long time.

Thanks for the link. I do enjoy listening to the music I grew up with. Isn't it odd how we thought or rather think our music from our teenage years is better than today's. I remember my Mother not liking our music when I was growing up and here I am not enjoying my sons. I still like Rock N' Roll the best, the 70's stuff. My son who is 19 also likes the 70's stuff which surprises me because I do not really care for my Mother's era of music.

Hi Villageanne. Yes I love old music, but my favorite is quite old music, Classical, When I was visiting my brother in Vancouver he has Bell express view and there were radio stations as part of the package, one was a classical station from Toronto, it was great, I was sorry to leave, as when I play on the computer I like music in the back ground, I don't like having vocals as I get lost in singing along, but find the classical, just right for the computer, Now the best part, the have a button there web page and I can listen to it while I am on the computer here at home. Yahoo Absolutely lovely music but no distractions, I have a bit of difficulty trying to do two things with my mind at the same time , this is very devastating as I was a multi tasker from the word go, now I an here and now.

I didn't before, but change my attitude to old music now. All that thanks to my father who likes old music very much.
Every time he plays the CD of old songs, he does nothing, just close his eyes, lying in the sofa, rest himself from the bottom to the top. I know, at that time, my father is immersed in beautiful pass time, waking up all his sweet memories of his young time.
