Knight Rider... any fans here?

I remember when I was a kid back in 1982, when the series was first introduced... sitting down in front of the telly looking at a car that not only talks, it drives itself and has an attitude to boot!The car has a very modern design, and looking at it again today, I am sure it can still fit in on the roads today without looking vintage or old.
Those were the days where a simple trick or indication that computers are at work and many magical data will just appear on the screen on kitt's monitor. Looking at the series again on TV today, heh heh... it ain't that much impressive no more.
I wonder if there are any nice shows out there relating to cars that has a similar effect like Kitt back in the eighties today.

Knight Rider's one of my favorite shows during the 80's, and Kitt is the most famous car in the world that time!;)
I don't know any show that is similar to Knight Rider nowadays, and I don't think no matter what they do, they can never compare any car than Kitt. It's all original and the story of that show is also awesome and with advesaries like Karr, it made the show more popular.
Made me more love the show!;)

heh heh... brings back a lot of fond memories, doesn't it?
subsequent tries at reviving the knight rider series didn't make the mark. Shows like Viper and Team Knight Rider couldn't bring the same element of awe like the original Knight Rider. What a pity.

My whole family used to watch Knight Rider every time it is shown on TV... we enjoyed it a lot... and during that time we were in awe at the what Kit can do... and it seems like David Hasselhoff's character was only a supporting one and Kit is the main actor... i do not think they ever made a tv series with the same concept... but if they do... they better make the car fly and swim to make it a lot more interesting today...

I think they did try the Knight Rider concept in one of the later TV series.
If I remember right, the series was Viper. Using the sport coupe, Viper. The car is not intelligent like KITT. But it can do many amazing stuff as well. I enjoyed that series a lot as well.
I too had a great time watching the show everytime it is shown on TV.
I still enjoy it today. Even though the show is a little dated. But it is still enjoyable.
Love the design of the car. The designer who gave life to the Pontiac Firebird 1982 is really something!

Hi there, I used to love that show too! I noticed today whilst browsing around on-line that Kitt is up for sale - but obviously without the talking feature! lol What about Batman and the Batmobile - I loved that car, man was that cool!

Oh, yeah! I loved Knight Rider. Of course, I was 8 years old and pretty easily impressed. I wanted one of those cars for so long after that (luckily, I grew out of it by the time I actually could drive). The effects look pretty cheesy now, but they were so cool in the 80's.

yeah... I agree. The effects do look cheesy now. But back in the 80s, that was the coolest car in the world! And I remember back then I was only about 5... and would religiously wait for the show to come on everyweek to gawk in awe at what KITT could do to solve crimes and jump over obstacles!
Actually if you look at the design of the car today, it will still fit on the road, comparable with many new cars today, it still a good looker.
With the advancement of technology today, I am sure many of the things that KITT could do then, is becoming a reality today!

Yes the series were so captivating and I tried not to miss any of it! I think I was mesmerized by the sophiscated KITT, it was really something new to me. And also looked forward to each show to see how Knight outwit the bad guys. Well the NBC has a remake of Knight Rider, a TV film, but I'm not sure if it'll be on show in Singapore after all.

I too love the series a lot. Never missed any episode of it in the first season.
The other seasons, well, I am not so lucky.
COS to watch them, there are conditions. And when I cannot get my homework done on time, I will not be allowed to watch it. That was then.
Now, it is work. The re-runs was shown during office hours!
This is so frustrating.
Looking for the DVD set, so far, I only see the Season 1 on sale. Yet to find the other seasons in the local stores.
Going online to find them is too expensive. So, I can only wait.
I sure hope they will re-run the series again. This time, I am going to invest in a recorder and put it on a timer to record the whole series!

Yep yep yep. Recently added it to my collection!
Just love watching the scanner lights go left to right and right to left and then left to right again.
Get a kick just watching it.
Brings back so many fond memories just watching the scanner. Especially in the room, with all the lights out in the dark!
