What is everybody's problem?

As an American, and proud to be one, I have to ask one simple question... Why does the world hate us?
I understand our President and government are pretty much the dumbest kids in the class right now and couldn't make a decent informed decision if it were spelled out in front of them, but doesn't the rest of the world realize that the majority of the this country isn't behind our government, and especially not behind Pres. Bush? First off, I didn't vote for the ignorant, lying, cheating, war mongering, freedom stealing guy! And I definitely don't agree with almost anything that comes out of his mouth or his White House.
So why am I, and my fellow Americans, lumped in with a guy that cheated his way into office? And I ask, without trying to be rude or anything, but what is everybody's problem?

my friend spent a year in france last year, and saw a lot of this first hand.
i don't know what the porblem is, but i do know that as a species, humans love their stereotypes.
we are, as americans, lumped in with our government.
i dont agree with G.W. Bush, but unfortunately, as an american, in foriegn countries i'll be seen as a fat, rebublican, Bush supporting redneck. not to say all those that agree with bush are fat rednecks, but you see what i'm saying. america was responisble for the introduction of fast food to the world, and has probably done a lot more damage than harm when trying to help out those poor little countries we keep invading. not to say we havent done SOME good in some of our conquests, but regardless, people like focusing on the bad, and like holding grudges.
i guess all we can do is set a personal example in the way we act as people, to try to show the rest of the world that some americans are educated, fair, and nice.
it sucks, but thats the lot we were dealt.
and in the end, i guess it could be a lot worse.

I was JUST about to do a post similar to this. I hear you 100%. The thing that gets me is that all of these countries hate us with a passion. The majority of us made one wrong decision...who to vote for(notme). But Bush keeps up the bad decisions. But the really ironic thing is..the same countries that b*tch about us are the same ones that come looking for a handout from our country when they have a catastrophe or cant control their own government. It is ludacris to me. I think we need to stay at home..and quite trying to save the whole damn world because as in September 11th you didnt see them all running to help us lick our wounds. They turned their back on us. Any other country can get away with being selfish and looking out for only themselves but because we are such a rich nation we are "obligated" to be the heroes and with that we also have to take the blame for EVERYTHING wrong in the world. You wont see on the news how they took 10 billion dollars of OUR tax dollars to feed the people of Afganistan now would ya??

See world? People in America do not support our government and it's decisions!
Look. I think they had it right back in President Roosevelt's day by calling us the Police of the World (which is what the movie 'Team America: World Police' is all about, BTW). And we can't stop because we have too many interests in almost every country in the world. One country collapses, and it could kill our economy even more than it is now.
Thanx for the response.
