ask a question that everyone can answer. Something like:
"What makes you truly happy?"
"What is your favourtie song of all time and why?"
"What was the happiest time of your life?"
etc.

the discussions that we come up with are not from new topics. they are on day to day topics. the way you present your own will always be different from those of other. this is becuase, your view of things and your experiences with them are never the same as those of others. i am sure that you do not think in terms of exact words with a friend as to his notion about a particular neighbor. that i sthe idea here. i hope that i have been of help enough.

just simply discuss about anything that catches your attention. it might have been brought up before by someone else, but your angle of the topic will always be different from those of the others. on the same topic, no two persons have the same way of approaching it.
so just go ahead. you can talk about the appearance of a house, things you consider weird, the appliances that you have and value, the little things which are otherwise worthless but is valuable to you because of the memories it holds...there are endless ones. keep your discussion at the common daily occurrences level. you must have noticed how doing housechores can collect responses. or, even the way we wear our rings and watches, those favorite colors and how they influence us in buying things like clothes and housewares including plates and glasses.
so if you post about asking how everyone go about washing clothes then you will describe therein the way you do it, be sure that you will gather more than five responses. that i s more than what you will desire to have. talk about the sewing machine at home and how it has served you, then ask if others do the same. that will be another hit. just make those original discussions even if the topics are not the first ones to come about.
