Have you ever had such a 'bad hair day' that you get it cut off?

I'm at that stage now. My hair is wavy and past my shoulders. It has been annoying me for weeks but I keep thinking I'll get past this stage and it will be nicer when it is longer. Ok tomorrow I have a hair appointment. Should I go the big cut (as I have in the past) or just do the trim to make me feel better? Help...

Oh Missy don't cut it all off, on a whim, you may regret it.
When mine is at that imbetween stage I tend to tie it back for a while, then when you let it down it's grown long enough to hoepfully stop annoying you. Another bonius of this is that people realise how long and pretty it is and you get lots of compliaments, making you feel really good. Let me know what you decide please.

My hair is at that 'in between' stage you talk about. The fringe is now past my ears so probably no longer classified a fringe lol. The elderly people I work with are always saying how pretty it is but I tell them their eyesight isn't too good! I'll let the hairdresser decide tomorrow I think. Maybe I'll feel better if I get some foils in it or something. (My hair is blonde and people think it's already coloured - they obviously can't see the grey poking through...)

I'm sure it is pretty! how can you tell it's grey- it could be dark blonde, lol.
Why not ask for a resytle and keep the lenght at the back and have it cut in slashes or something so it blends and doesn't annoy you?
Don't let the hairdresser have complete control, but some high or lowlights might chear you up.
Have a lovely hairdresser trip, and I hope you feel happier tomorrow!

I see you have already been to the hairdresser, so no need to tell you how to cut your hair...lol. I do get frequently annoyed with my hair. I have very long (to the middle of my back or longer) very thick, wavy hair. A lot of people tend to think it's straight because when it's dry it hangs down because of the weight, but actually, when wet it curls up into ringlets !! I can hardly get a brush through it and have to wait until at least hal dry to do that !! Forget blow drying, it takes way toooooo long. BUT I could never imagine myself with short hair, so even though it can get annoying I keep it. My husband always says when I first get up I look like a lion. He likes it :)

Now that is extreme dear, so don't do it. I get nuts from mine and want to pull it out sometimes. But do not do something you will regret out of fustration. I think you should only get the trim and feel better. If not, then you will have cooled down, and can always cut it. But once you cut it, you will have to wait a long time for it to grow back. (HUG)

due to a tight budget, paying to go to the hairdressers is way on the end of my list. I have a sister in law that is a hairdresser. Half the battle is getting her & her sissors in the same room... lol
Every so often I go though this stage, depending on my mood. Sis in law is coming over tmrw Miss 11 is in line for hair cut... lol

I had a bad hair day last week and I went to the hairdresser's and had it bobbed. It looked lovely when I came out but now I having a bad hair day every day. I just can't manage it. I wake up every morning and it is sticking up like forked lightning. My advice is just to have it trimmed and keep it so that you can manage it. I can't wait for mine to grow a little again because it's driving me crazy.

Hard for me to give advice....I just wake up one morning and do it! lol...I never make an advance appointment.
I also have been known to go into the bathroom at work with a scissors and trim my bangs. It's usually when I'm desperately in need of a cut and it humid outside and they are in my eyes.

Back in the 70s, there was a grim-faced barber who took it upon himself to give me such a severe and ugly short back and sides style that I ended up having it all cut down to a skinhead cut.

I do have a long hair for months now and I was planning to trim it since it is summertime here in my country and it is not easy to manage when you have long hair and it is hot.
I used to pony my hair or just let it rolled up on my busy days but the moment I see my face on the mirror I really want to drive to my hairstylist.
I think a trim will be nice specially if it is matched with your face shape.

no, however I am threatening my 12 year old to do just that. she has long, lusciously thick hair - but she does not keep it well groomed. she has a very sensitive scalp and combing her hair causes her pain, so she lets it get all tangled up...last time I got through it there were sections that were matted. and though she washes it regular it smells bad. I respect that she wants to look girly with lovely long hair, but if she can not or will not tend to it it will have to be cut short.

I don't think it is bad to wash your hair every day.I do think you should use a good shampoo and conditioner though if you are going to wash your hair every day. You need to make sure you rinse it good also. Sometimes a good treatment for your hair is a good thing also because it rejuvenates the hair follicle and keeps your hair looking sheen and not dried out.
