I have only been in my apartment for 1 month. The lease is a year long. I have a few weeks until the rent is due and she is nowhere to be found.( I think left town to live with her ex) Also, she let a friend stay there at our house, who is still there (with suitcases). Has anyone gone through a similar situation? Can I move someone in without telling the lanlord? How do I get rid of her friend, without waking up to my tires being slashed?

you might want to check and see if her stuff is still there.sounds like she moved herself out and moved him in to take over her part.
if you don't really know the guy,and he's not paying rent,
i'd definetly tell the landlord/police if need be.
he'd be stupid to slash your tires.he'd be the first suspect.

yeah, thanks. Can she do that legally? I dont know the guy at all and I'm kind of creeped out. I've been spending the last few nights at my boyfriends house. I just want to do this as clean as possible, without any domestic foolishness

she can only if she's been allowed to by the landlord, however they cannot do it without the other tenants on the lease being notified, and them also requesting it.
most landlords i knew would make the person leaving pay out the remainder of their part of the lease, regardless of whether the other people remained,or new ones were added.
so chances are she didn't tell him/her.
another reason to inform the landlord is if yours is one of those places that charges for guests after 3 days,if the landlord sees him and doesn't know she left, you might start getting a bill for him added to your rent.
