Do you practice yoga at home? How do you discipline yourself to get in the habits of a regular practice? Do you practice at a regular time? How many days a week do you practice? I used to take a great yoga class, and it was so wonderful to go to. I loved the habit of it, plus it was great to learn new poses in a supportive environment. However, my teacher moved away and I haven't done yoga in at least a month. My body needs movement! It is just really hard for me to set aside the time to do yoga. I need to come up with a routine that works for me. What do you do?

I love yoga...but have never taken a class. I used to do some poses I learned out of a book called yoga chick but I don't wanna do it anymore until I take an actual class and learn the correct way to position myself. I don't know if you have cable but on the fitness channel at I believe around eight thirty in the morning is a yoga program called Namaste yoga. You could always try this until you get a new instructor.

I have done it to tapes and such before, but it's hard to do it regularly this way. Most tv shows and tapes I don't like because they do yoga really fast, sort of a western style where you try to go through as many poses as quickly as possible...

Oops, I did want to add that I have this neat DVD called Yoga Trance Dance that is really fun... I do that at home once in a while. The dog helps me do yoga, too. She is really interested in me if I am on the floor.

I can suggest you a simple yet effective way for this. Yoga aims at driving the static enery to kinetic form, hence it alwys aims at stillness in the postures. Always be concious of actions what you do. In simple words you walk, sit, sleep. always maintain a comfortable and an erect posture in that. when you breath, take a slow inhale and exhaling procedure. These exercises worked for me. Hope to work for you too. Any comments please let me know.

Yoga originated in India. I heard that almost every indian are good at yoga. Is that true?It seems that you are a good practiser. How I wish I could travelled to India! It is a mysterious country in my mind.

Mostly people are so enthusiastic when they start yoga! They talked very good about and expressed that they found really a good life support from yoga... Here they mean the Yogasans they learned by attending yoga classes; But yoga starts after you leanred! If you want to keep fit yourself then you have to do daily practice for that and then you are having overall benefit of that! In every field you need discipline to achieve good results! And in Yoga also you need a discipline in yourself to do it regularly and follow the decided time! It is really easy to practice at home daily, but keep in mind that the air circulation should be there properly!

I do practice at home but unfortunately not on a regular basis. I really ought to do that, becase when I do I feel a lot better. Here where I live there are no yoga classes available so it's either me practicing at home or no yoga at all. But then again, yoga is so much more than just doing asanas, don't you think? I try to add yoga to my every day life - like meditating while I'm on the bus, doing breathing excercised throughout the day, avoiding meat, trying to avoid any kind of violence, being kind to the people around me.... I wish I had the discipline to do yoga every day! The hardest part for me is to find a time of the day when i can do yoga, at the same time every day. I have such a hard time doing yoga in the morning because I'm always realy tired and need my morning cup of tea before my brain even start to function. So after I've had my tea I can't do yoga for several hours... I guess I'd better try to do yoga at night, before I go to bed. But then I'm often too tired... I really, really do need to start doing yoga again, because yoga gives me such energy!!!!

I really want to attend a great yoga class, but I was disappointed in most of the yoga teachers in the local area, so I practise at home. However, I feel it difficult to practise everyday on a regular basis without a supportive environmetn and good atmosphere.

You have to make time and set the intention to do it-its a commitment to yourself. For a start try doing yoga with some soothing music playing in the background,as u progress u will do it without the music as u will realise how to go into yoursef and thats when you attain stability-physically,mentally and emotionally

I am doing yoga practice at home, regularly for last 10 years.I have completed yoga--basic and advanced courses. My yoga timing is 6.30am to 7.30am and 6 days a week.Normally sunday is no yoga day.For yoga to become passion we face following hurdles. 1)AGE:at young we are much more carrier and enjoyment oriented and little bit less aware of health--awareness can be generated & maintained with a company of someone senior.2)we are always good starter:again to maintain and to keep intrest senior's company is helpful.3)To do only yoga asanas(poses)creats dis-intrest after some days.Prepare yoga programme, including asanas, pranayam and if possible meditation.Programme should be prepared with your own intrest and suitability(here some trials and errors are required)4)Regarding time--you have to do ONE TIME execercise sincererly.Go alone to your favourite place, sit calm for few time.review your daily schedule.Analyse it.Check out unwanted things or things which can be get done through others.Act on it,you will get free time. This will also help to reduce work pressure and tension. These are few tips, you try it.Yoga will become your PASSION and you will enjoy your work and life also. good luck!

I've been practising Yoga for 30 years. I do it every morning as soon as I get up. I feel so good after my morning Yoga! You can find a class on TV, or buy a book. I seldom miss a day, but have found over the years that even if you can only do it once a week, your body will respond! If you really want to get back to Yoga you will find a time and place. Go for It!
