the best gift!

almost everytime there is an occasion, we always find a hard time looking for something to give our loved ones. we tend to look for something sweet, something huggable, or perhaps something that will truly last the longest possible time. but are the best gifts the ones we usually find in stores or shops? aren't there any other things in life which need not be wrapped and still last over the years? now, would you please tell me... what's the best gift one can give his/her loved one?

They say that the best things in life are free and its the thought that counts. For me, the best gift we could give is love. Love is priceless, so when we could give them love, i think they would be grateful. Giving material things will fade away, but giving love remains.

there's one song that goes, "love.. it is the greatest gift of all." it's one of the songs i sang often when i was still in elementary. i never thought about its meaning until now...

Unconditional love is the first thing that comes to my mind. Also, little sacrifices mean a whole lot. For instance, if you like a show on TV that comes on the same time your loved one's favorite comes on, if you let them watch their show, even though it's a small sacrifice - it makes a difference.
When I lived with my parents I wanted a dog so badly. My dad did not want one in his house and he was forceful in his convictions. However, as the years went on, he saw how much I yearned for a lovable companion, and bought me a dog. I KNOW that was a huge sacrifice for him.

Oh! It's so nice to hear such story. it made me reminisce the many little things my own mom has done for me in expense of her own happiness. Unconditional love... need i say more?
