I think those tests are mandatory or highly suggested in America and around the world, but maybe not. It does raise questions of privacy.

I agree with you as I think if the test was done before marrieage the a couple in question can decide for themself whether it is wise to get married if one person do have HIV. And what is the risk for future children if they want to have one in the future.

Absolutely...no Q about it. I guess we r too bloody obsessed wth wat protocols (about HIV testing & diagnosis set by national guidelines or authorities)has to say. All these people, who decides hw or who 2 b tested, r very old & r nt sensitive to the prblms faced by young pples.. they b'live HIV testing is a kinda disrespect for th dignity of the client & its to b reservd 4 medically indicated (already diseased) or high risk groups (those wth exposure history, csw etc)..i guess its nothing but bull...t. 1ce u get it u had it 4 th rest of ur life...so it should b mandatory 4 kinda ppl, including those intending 2 get married.. atleast till a treatment or a vaccine is available

Abso-freakin'-lutely! It should be made mandatory and also all marraiges should be registered. 2 most important things but mostly ignored. We take classes before we get a driving license so why not get blood tests before you commit to a marraige? Imagine there are so many children that are born with this virus only because the parents did not get themselves tested.... it is so unfair and so ridiculous. something that can be totally prevented is spreading because people are afraid that their escapades might come out in open!
