i started to learn guitar and love music when i was in grade school, but as an ordinary kid wants to do, i preffer much to play than to practice playing guitar... but everything changed when i stepped in high school, my primary idol, my teacher and my father was the one who tought me everything.. music is my life, for the reason that no matter what other tells me to do, i want to play guitar instead. i even got to the point that preffer to play guitar than studying, so my mom always scold me for that, she always tells me that, "no matter how you'll be good in guitar, you can't do it as a living when you grow up"... in fact, i know that's true, but when will i do what i love and want?... so now, i divide my time for my studies and my hobby... my dad is always there for me, actually for all of us in our family when we need him...
i'd love to hear from anyone who reads this, from your own experince... thanks and God Bless...

your mom is right, listen to her. in the philippines, you can't make a living just by playing the quitar, unless you live in europe where artists are always welcome. even the classically trained end up just playing in hotels & ships. My husband, though he loves rock, is classically trained but we decided if we're going to have a family he needs to make a career shift, which he did, successfully. being like jimmy page or tuck andres would not work, unless if you love playing so much, u can't decide to have a family later on, you'd have to be single to make ends meet.
