I really can't remember the first book that I've read as a child... I think it was a picture book of Little Red Riding Hood but I can't remember much! Lolz! But the first books that gave me a deep impression was
Number the Stars - this gave me such an impact that kids knew about suffering at such an early age and how lucky I was
A Wrinkle in Time and other books by Madeleine L'Engle - this book sparked my interest in the supernatural and the unknown. It was cool to learn about a 5th dimension. I learned so many vocabs in these books too!
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery - they introduced me to really really classic chick lit. lolz! Well not exactly chick lit, but it introduced to me how girls thought and felt as teens. And I loved to read about their everyday lives and adventure. You didn't have to travel across the 7 seas just to seek excitement!
And of course... HARRY POTTER! The boy who lived.. I don't think I need to explain this anymore =)

Oh, dear - this is a tough one.
Dr. Seuss, of course, when I couldn't read myself. And I know there were more. I always tried to get my parents to buy me a book whenever we went to town (not that I went often), but I no longer remember any specific children's books that my mother read to me. I remember her reading to me, though - constantly! My poor Mom!!
However, the Black Stallion novels were probably the ones that got me hooked on reading on my own. I started reading them in Grade Two (so, around 7-8 years old).
The novel "Star Wars" was what got me hooked on science fiction at age 11 - although I had read Robert A. Heinlein (his books for younger readers) and Asimov for years before that. But after reading "Star Wars", that was it! I read everything I could get my hands on!
A series by Lloyd Alexander - "The Chronicles of Prydain" - got me into fantasy the next year. I spent that summer buying each book in the series - and I read the last book, started sobbing halfway through, and finished it around 2:30-3:00 in the morning. What a ride!!! And I love that series to this day (and I'm now 41).
So, sorry - not just one book...
