You know what would be cool? Bringing the City of Heroes notion of Sidekicks and Exemplars into World of Warcraft. It could work like this:
A person sidekicks (or squires) to a higher lvl char. Their stats are modified to a level approx 1-2 lower than the character they squired to. The experience gained is scaled down to that appropriate for their real level. This would allow people to take lower lvl chars into fun areas usually reserved for upper lvl chars, and to help out their upper lvl char friends.
For exemplars (I dunno what it should be called), the stats are reduced to right about equal with the lower lvl char, and instead of experience, I can see to ideas - 1) experience is converted into money (the more problematic idea), or 2) That person is treated as though in an inn, and their xp rest goes up as they are exemplarred (sp?). That way, they could help their lower lvl friends and still get some benefit. I love XP Rest, that'd be more than enough for me!
I play with friends who are much higher lvl than me. I have difficulty forming parties with strangers a lot of the time, probably due to the off hours I play or my server. I would love to play with my higher lvl friends, but they don't want to start another low lvl char. This would allow me to play with them, or vice versa.
What do you guys think?

Hmmm, I'm not sure exactly how the system might be implemented really. It sounds really cool and all, but I'm just not sure how they might implement something like that. Would you have to be online at the exact same time as the person you are a Squire to? Questions like that come to mind.

Oh no no Sixpod, this isn't a long-term deal. This is when you and your friend are online and actually wanting to play together. You squire (or exemplar), play awhile, and then when you break party you go back to normal. In City of Heroes, you even had to stand within a certain proximity of the person you were sidekicked to in order to maintain your modified stats, so if you were too far away, you reverted to normal. The end result is that two players of vastly different levels can play together without the lower player gaining any unfair advantages XP-wise.
