Well I won't say that i hav eread the whole bible to undersatnd it but yes can definitely say that there is no mention on christmas in the bible and I don't undersyand why does everyone get so taken up by celebrating christmas, yes even I am happy that Christ Jesus was born but He said remember my death , no where it says remember my birth. I won't say that its wrong to celebrate christmas but yes why on 25th Dec? How does this date come into picture.

I am not sure why that particular date was chosen but I know why we celebrate. Think about what the situation would be if Christ had never been given to us on that night. We celebrate the birth of Christ because our Lord came to earth to show us the way to live and to provide for us a way to the Father. What beter reason to have a holiday? Many people have made a huge deal out of Christmas because of the retail aspect of the holiday. Everyone likes to receive gifts and stores like to make money, but that is not really what it is all about. Christians also celebrate Easter and Pentacaust but they don't get as much fanfare because not so much gift giving is involved.

Waaay back when christianity was basically flooding the lands, (before people got uppity and started trying wipe out paganism altogther), they tried to incorporate the original pagan holidays and celebrations into their stuff.
The pentacle once represented the five wounds of christ to christians after all..they did alot of incorporating for awhile.
Christmas was originally called Yule, the winter solstice. Alot of the modern traditions ARE pagan. The tree, the yule log, the feasting and gifts, etc.
It's not wrong to celebrate a holiday whatever your religious affiliation though..christians don't view it as the ancient struggle between the light and the darkness (the light usually winning..), they celebrate it usually as the birthdate of Jesus. Intent is all that really matters..and as long as people have fun, who cares?

Christmas is called Christmas because we are celebrating the mass of Christ - it's a Catholic term. December 25th was chosen by the early church to align itself with Yule, which was celebrated by the pagans. Even red and green were chosen to corespond with the colors asociated with Yule - red for love, green for prosperity. Same with Christmas trees, holly, ivy, etc...look it up, Christmas aka Yule aka Winter Solstice are all essentially celebrating the same things. Pagans called it the rebirth of the sun, Christians call it the birth of the Son. There are a lot of Christians out there caught up in NOT celebrating Christmas because of it's pagan roots and because of the Bible's warnings of not being conformed to this world. I am very much on the fence with this because to me, Christmas is more about family and rembering Christ's birth and less about pagan traditions. HOWEVER, the Bible also states that once you are aware of such things as the lies created by man to create these celebrations, to actually celebrate them is an abomination to God. Same goes ESPECIALLY for Halloween. Infact, ALL Christian holidays were origionally pagan holidays adopted by the early church to ease converts into the Christian religions. There is a book out there called Fossilized Customs...do a search for it online, I think you can even get it for free through their website. Great book with a lot of interesting insight. Just be careful why you celebrate and know that God knows your heart. God bless.

christmas is not mentioned any where in scripture and most scholars admit dec 25 th is more than likely not Jesus birthday!the date and most of the traditionds are pagen in nature coming from roman days whent he romans though it easier to bring in known hollidays and give then christian names in order to convert the pagans
