Is it so Important to be a Good Student

It is important to be the best student you can be. But not to the extent that you lose sleep and lose friendships over it. Your life is more than studies. I was always good in my classes, at the top of my class. Perhaps I could have been at THE top. But I wanted to have a life outside of just studies. And you deserve to have a happy life as well. I hope you know that. : )

You are not a failure and although it is important to pay heed to your studies and try and do well, not all of us have the same aptitude, I used to work so hard at my studies and get B grades for achievement and A for effort, whereas my brother always managed to get A grades for achievement and C or D for effort as he put little effort in but was more intelligent at school work. So your parents told you to get the 1st rank but think about this, so did probably the parents of all the other kids. You can't all be first can you? If you're getting average results it still meant you were doing better than those getting the lowest results but that doesn't mean those getting the lowest results were failures either, it just wasn't their particular area of expertise. I know so many people who are extremely good at one area such as Maths but have little people skills and can't socialise. I know people who are glamorous and beautiful and always been sought after by men but when it comes to balancing their cheque book they're totally lost. I know people who are useless at every day conversation and theoretical stuff but are excellent at sports or handy stuff around the house such as building and decorating. Everyone is good at something, just some people haven't yet discovered what they're best at. x
