I think the best place to go in Singapore is Sentosa. I was there two weeks ago, the scenery is really nice. Don't expect too much though because you might get disappointed like I did. However, bring lots of money so you can enjoy all the attractions/activities there. Try taking the MRT station going there, it's worth the trip :) MRT is squeaky clean :)

Yes! Sentosa Island is a very relaxing place. You're right. One thing you should consider is your time. To enjoy to the fullest, you should go there early for you not to miss a thing or two...

Orchard Road is very good for shopping. Raffles is a must see hotel. You could enjoy having tea there one afternoon. I suggest getting out of the city to the National Park for good scenery. If you take a picnic be careful when you eat it. There is a fine if you are caught feeding a monkey. On Sunday you can see people gathering together with birds in cages. The singing from the dear little birds can be amazing. Sentosa is a great place to relax for a few hours. It has a beach and you could go swimming. Singapore's airport is one of the best in the world with great facilities.

I agree on what you've said about the Orchard Road. It's a very good place to shop. A long walk for a shopper...

I think every corner of Singapore is beautiful. Singapore itself is a huge park in itself...so no matter where you there you will surely enjoy the sight...shopping or malls are not so big there and not so impresive but that is not the main attraction of Singapore...for me just by riding the double decker bus is already enough to impress me...such a beautiful country...a must visit for everyone to see.

To enjoy singapore all you have to do is walk around boat Quay and Clark Quay. Incidently Clark Quay also has some nice places to eat. If you are adventurous take the ever so popular Night Safari, if you like birds do go and spend time at the Jurong Bird Park, there so many birds and such variety it is time well spent. You could also visit Singapore Botanical gardens to see an amazing collection of Orchids. Then there is Haw Par Villa singapore, it is another garden but with statues that tell you about myths and legends, it is unique and very different, it is an effort by two brothers. You could also go to Chinese-Japanese Garden and spend a few hours in total relaxation, walking about in a serene and quite place. Visit Merlion Park anytime of the day or night it looks pretty at all times.
You could go to Royal Selangor Pewter museum to experience Pewter, they even give demos!
Go to Sentosa for some of the greatest experiences, the ride on cable car is awesome, keep your smiles and cameras ready. After you get there you will have so many things to do that a day is not enough I suggest keep atleast 2-3 days to spend here there are lot of activities once you get there, golfing, watching the dolphins, touring fort Siloso, going up the Merlion, there is a butterfly park, underwater world, herb garden, spa's, all those rides, oh if you do not have time to do all of it do not miss out on the spectacular event a water Opera, this show is on every night I think it starts at 7 (do check the time) but be there at this palce half hour before to get good seats (they are on first come first sit basis) there is storytelling, songs, music, water jets in shapes, designs which sway to music and the water jets are used as the background for the laser lights that shall show all the animation for the story that is told! It is an awesome thing to see, I have never seen anything like that ever!
If you are foodie and dare to experiment go to Serangoon Gardens there are so many hawkers selling their speciality that one meal would not be enough to try here you might have to go back again to try other dishes.
For shopping nothing better than Orchard road (but this is expensive) you could go to Mustafa Mall which is open 24 hours for shopping. You could also go to Changi Village for some great bargain shopping.
This is all we could do in 5 days! But there are also many other activities to do in Singapore I do not remember much after 6 years. But I sure od have wonderful memories of this country. Also remember do not litter anywhere in Singapore the fines are very stiff! Wow that is one long list! Singapore is a small country only in size but you will need more than just one week to experience singapore!

For me, the best place to go in Singapore is the Sentosa Island. The dining there is great for those who are food lovers but it's a little bit expensive there. The scenic views are almost perfect. Lots of different sceneries and the activities, for sure you will enjoy...
