When thrash was first given its name.... bands from everywhere jumped on the wagon and i guess it was believed that the faster you played the better the band you were as long as you could keep it together...Metallica, Slayer,Overkill etc... all were very creative in their own sounds...But nobody held it togethter like Testament...Point proven....They are the onlt true Thrashers around today....BUT.... how many people remember Metallica saying theyd never do videos because they thought it was a sellout?

hehe you are right dude, when talking about Testament you dont ask people if they like old testament or new testament, they always have been metal! compared to metallica .. when you can say you like the first metallica era, till black album!
With Testament you can be proud, from Legacy to the end they are thrash metal!
Even if the new Testament is it with harshy vocals, it's still great thrash metal!

I don't remember it, 'cause by the time I was born, they were writing material for the self-titled "Black Album," but I've read that somewhere. I don't mind, though. I love their '80s stuff the most, and while it definitely isn't thrash, I still think the Black Album is a great, still definitely metal, effort. It is a lot more simplified compared to their previous stuff, but hell, even if all you like is thrash, you can look at it this way: it gets their name out there and after getting hooked on that album, maybe some of the more mainstream audience who wouldn't have checked out thrash might end up becoming metalheads once they check out their other albums.
But anyway, Testament is awesome, no doubt about it. Do you like the Old Testament or the New Testament? (yes, pun intended, lol)
I've heard some of their newer stuff, mostly from The Gathering, and it is pretty awesome, but I like their older stuff even more. The New Order is probably my favorite, my introduction to Testment, but I like all of it.
