I've been watching interviews with President Ahmad al-Bashir of Sudan lately. The most infuriating one so far has been with Ann Curry on the Today show. He totally denies there is any chaos in Dalfur, that there is no famine, no disease and most of all no rape occurring. When the facts humanitarian workers have witnessed such crimes his response was he didn't think there was rape because God wouldn't like it. What is wrong with this guy? How can he think everything in that part of his country is just hunky dory? He won't accept help for these people and said the maps he was shown proving these people are displaced and suffering probably came from the same place the maps of WMD locations in Iraq did. I am appalled at this "president", and it really sheds light on why the crisis in Dalfur gets worse every day. Have you heard any of this? Does it frustrate you also?

Yes I saw the interview and Ann Curry didn't believe him either she showed him picture of where there used be villages but are no longer there. Why does the rest of the world let these madmen get away with it?

I think part of it has to do with the Sudanese government not wanting militry help from outside sources, al-Bashir has the delusion the the African Union is handling things just fine. As far as I'm concerned this should've been higher on the priority list than killing Saddam was.
