One of my mishaps is cramming. I always cram especially if I have deadlines to meet.. sheesh! Sleepness nights, coffee.. coffee.. and more coffee! Haha.. I have this tendency to be lazy once in a while, and the next thing I know.. it's 5am in the morning and I should've finished my project by 11:30pm of last night!! I'm one heck of a crammer, huh? =) How about you? What are your adversities, mishaps as a student?

I used to do that in high school, but I always used to work better when the pressure was on...
one of the biggest problems I had in college was actually attending class. once I found out that my grade wasn't going to necessarily be diretly affected by attendance like in high school, I became a lot more relaxed with skipping school to maybe go to the beach or to the mall. It was so hard for me some days to even just get out of bed to head to school, let alone actually go to class when I got there. I would hang out with my friends on campus, just go to the library to study and read, or to the computer lab to surf the internet.

I found that back in high school, it seemed like the was more pressure. I had way more classes back then, and way too many reading assignments to realistically complete. So I couldn't procrastinate much really. I had to do homework until 1 or 2am, sometimes even 4 or 5am.
When I was working 40 and sometimes 60 hours a week and had college full time, I got straight As because I knew I didn't have a moment to spare on studying. With one class though, I can put things off.

I think cramming has been with all of us in college. Who in the world did not experienced cramming. I really hate cramming but I don't really have the urge to finish ahead of time the things I have to do. I always do all my work in the last minute.

Procrastinating. I'm really bad about putting large projects off until the last minute. For example, I've got a 10-page research paper due near the end of April, and I've only just recently picked up the books I need to read to do my research. I probably should have all the research done by this point and be ready to start working on the actual paper itself.

Just keep on talking :) It's the best practice. If you want, this may sound crazy but, talk to yourself when you're alone. Expose yourself where there's a lot of people, it'll help you a lot!

I remember a lot of cramming for test and then the very occasional paper that would be written or should I say thrown together in just a few minutes. By what I liked to call the cup and paste methodology.

I think my problem is often procrastination. I don't want to do readings especially, because I know I'll probably end up with a headache. So instead I'll put it all off and either do it and get a headache, or just forget about it.
Next quarter, one of my friends is actually going to be a reader for me and I'll see if that helps. I bet it will.
