Have you seen anyone die in front of you in an accident?

The first time I ever went to the circus, back in the mid seventies, the trapeze artists were just getting stated. The lights were all turned out, except for the spotlight on the trapeze artists. As we sat watching the woman swinging on the swing looked like her hands let go of the swing, she then fell and we heard a thud. We thought this must be part of the act. The lights went up and they asked if there was a doctor in the house. We still thought this was somehow part of the act. The woman lay there on the cement. There was no net anywhere. The paramedics came and picked her up and that's when we saw the blood on the pavement. We knew it was real.
After that the show continued and everytime the hire wire walker shook or another trapeze artist performed, the whole audience gasped. They're not kidding when they say, the show must go on.

We were going to the zoo one day a few years ago. There was a big wreck ahead of us. We avoided it however ahead of us someone landed on the pavement. When we were able to pass they were just putting a sheet over him. I could still see his boot.
I bet that act at the circus was something to see once they acted. Hopefully neither of us will experience something like that ever again.

I remember when I was in 5th grade, our class was outside for PE. I remember hearing tires screeching and when I looked up, I saw a body rolling in the street. Turns out it was a first grader who got hit by a woman running through a red light. Our class went back inside immediately and I think it was our teacher who told us the next day that he didn't make it.

yes i have seen someone die infront of me in an accident and it really shuck me up. I was getting my usual bus to work in the morning. About 5 miles in to my journey we ran in to heavy trafic, so i settled down to read my newspaper and wait. From behind the bus, out pulled a motorbike and started to drive up the line of trafic at a full speed. About half way up the line a white van chose this moment to turn round in the middle of the road. The bike hit the side of the van, threw the biker through the fence at the side of the road, this took his head off and of course killed him instantly
blessed be

Yes, I have seen someone die. I was in the second grade. We were coming back from camping when a van ran a stop sign. We hit and the passenger in the front was not wearing a seatbelt. She went through the window and bled out. I am lucky that I don't recall her like I used to. Gives a whole new meaning to wearing a seatbelt.

I saw one year ago, an old woman getting hit by a car!
I was working on my daytime job doing deliveries for "Nestle", and as i looked i saw her falling on the ground!
It was a terrible image!
Even the guy that was driving had around 18. Too young to experience that! He stopped the car and got out crying!
A day to forget!

Wow that must have been terrible. No I fortunately have never seen anyone die in front of me. I'm very surprised though because any time the circus comes to town they always
have protective netting underneath in case they fall. Too bad these precautions weren't taken.

Last year there was a man on top of a parking garage. We could see him from the building that I work in. It was right in front of it. The cops were there trying to talk him down and he sat up there for a while. The police started trying to get closer and he just stood up and jumped. I just remember seeing his body lay there on the cement and the ambulance rushing as fast as they could to cover him and take him away. It's horrible when you see these things because it's takes a while to get out of your mind.

I felt a gnawing sensation in my stomach as I read. It was cruel that the circus continued and people sadistically romantic they kept mum and watched others risking their life. They should have called the police and get the same stopped. In accidents the police and the ambulance arrive simultaneously. What country are you in. I wonder about the law. Such dangerous sports should be banned and those already in business should be rehabilitated!
You start campaigning for it whether you succeed or fail, it doesnt matter!
bye
Take care

Yes, in a way I did see someone die in front of me. Back in August of 2006 me and my husband took our children out to a strip pit to go fishing. It was me, my husband, another husband and wife that we were friends with, my then 2-1/2 month old son, my 2 year old daughter, my 3 year old daughter and my 4 year old daughter. It was a very hot summer day and we were all enjoying fishing. The kids were complaining that we were hot so we all decided to sit down on a boat ramp that was out at the pit. The water wasn't even to our waists where we were sitting. We sat and played, enjoyed the day. I finally decided it was time to get home and dry off. The ramp was slippery since it was covered in moss so I had to watch my step as I stood up since I was holding my son. The 30 seconds that it took me to try and stand safely up on that ramp, my 3 year old daughter disappeared from sight. My 4 year old then said the worst words I ever heard. "Mama, I think she's drowning." I quickly loaded up the kids and searched for her desperately until the cops and EMS got there an HOUR later. It took them 3 hours to find her since the water had gotten so stirred up from us being in there trying to find her. I will never forget that day as it is now burned into my memory. I hope to never see anyone die in front of me again. I pray for anyone who has ever seen such a thing and anyone who has ever lost someone that they love.

as much as possible i dont want to see people die in front of my very own eyes. There was this time when I was riding in a jeepney, there was this passenger who was stabbed directly to his chest,(he was a victim of hold-up) we called for a fster vehicle that will transport him to the nearest hospital, after then I dont know if he was still alive. I was immobile for a moment because of shock, I really hae seeing blood especially coming out from a human.

Its tough to believe that the show still went on. I have seen something like that happen in front of my eyes. it was an road accident, as we turned back from where we heard a huge thud sound we saw a truck jumping over two school going kids and I think it will be good for you and everybody else that encounters this kind of condition to try and forgot it as early as possible.

I saw my dad get shot in the head in his own shop. His brains and blood splattered all over me as I hid behind some broken televisions he was supposed to be getting rid of. Thank God the shooter didn't see me - I probably would have gotten it too.

No, but I would rather not. That is something that you just do not forget. I don't want those memories stuck in my head.

I see you posted this a long time ago. Aslo, a long time ago - when I was only about 22, A teenager, riding behind my car on a motor scooter, muscalulated a bend in the road or my speed and crashed. Even though he was wearing a helmet, the concrete post his head hit caused severe head injuries. I watched the blood our out of his ears and nose, until it stopped, just before the ambulance arrived. I felt toally helpless to assist him. I identified myself as a witness to the police and had to go to the inquest. His father accused me of lying but another man, a bus conductor(this was in England), told me he had seen this same boy riding too close to his bus several times, and wasn't overly surprised by this event. Not exactly a high point in my life but one I can never forget.
