Do you have a system in place for selecting a best response to your threads? Any particular criteria you're hoping a responder will meet?
What makes a response the best? Accuracy? Humor? Substance? Length? (Width? :P ) Do you tend to choose responses that agree with your own point of view? Or will you reward a response that is contrary to your own beliefs and opinions if it's well presented and sourced or just all around articulate?
Have you ever felt that one of your responses deserved best response and then been disappointed, or even mildly offended, that you didn't get it?

Not really, but when I am love with some one response I do rate him/her as a best response. A persons impression makes a response best accuracy, humor, substance, length and width these all things are ridiculous what I thing a best response should be like is sincerity, politeness, good understanding and a friendly behavior. I am not in to giving best responses or taking them but I really appreciate good and polite responses as a human being I think I am good and I fulfill what others want with me :) Not yet, I was never offended by my any response as all the myLotters are good enough to response some of them are rude either they still not responded on my discussions :p have a good day! Happy earnings.

But if you're rating on a person's impression, doesn't the accuracy, humor, substance, or length of a response affect the impression they leave? A simple, funny one-liner can leave a positive response by making you laugh, couldn't it? Sincerity, politeness, friendliness, and understanding, or the lack thereof are all displayed as a part of the substance of any response, aren't they?
You have a good day too! :)

when I make a best response I look for the person that actually read what I wrote and answered any guestion in the discussion the best that they could. I don't judge really on length I go more on what was said and how it was said than anything else. this is what works for me...

Has it ever happened that you've had a few responses that you think are equally deserving? How did you choose?
Do you set some sort of time limit for it as well?
I usually let it sit for about a week or two before settling on one, myself. That way, more people get a chance to stumble on the topic to respond. It's sort of like taking the scenic route! LOL!

I just got started and I'm curious about this as well. For instance, I started a discussion "How did you meet the love of your life" - I've gotten almost 50 responses, all very interesting and different! How could I possibly choose a "best"? The one I thought was coolest? Funniest?
I see how if this was a forum like experts exchange we'd want a Best Answer, but how does that work for discussions?

That's another good question! Especially for topics that become really popular really quickly. It can be a lot to read through, I'm sure.
Good luck with that.
