What are world events that bother you as a human

For me it was the Tsunami on December 24th 2004. I am a Sri Lankan where one of the worst hit areas of the disaster. I was able to see the damage it caused to the coastal areas of the country, for a moment I thanked God for saving the people I knew from the disaster. It made me think how unstable our lives are. Especially the train which was caught by the Tsunami waves with hundreds of people on board. It was devastating site to see even after couple of days.
