I can't actually determin how many times but I could say that I always use one whenever I draw. Well, I could draw and not use an eraser but, I always make it a habit that my pencils always have erasers if not have both an eraser with my pencils. I use to have delays on looking for erasers. ^_^;

Often! As my husband who taught art at a college for many years used to say several times a week, "The eraser is your friend!" Of course, he doesn't much practice what he preaches, because he draws so well that he doesn't need to use an eraser very much. Although he draws quickly, he is slow and methodical in his planning. I'm quite the opposite, having to scratch out nine lines to get one that I like--I think fast, but draw slowly. That avatar of yours is a photo, though, not one of your drawings, right?

The eraser is my best friend when I'm drawing. I have this sketchy type drawing style that allows me to get everything figured out first.

I erase as much as I can when writing or drawing a picture.

Hi kponniah! Well, I use erasers a lot cause I keep changing what I want in my drawings. And I think it's right to use it when you get to the point that everything is fine, just before you ink it or start doing the details, cause the strokes can get confusing and everything becomes a mess!

At times, I use the eraser constantly because I strive for perfection, whether I want to or not. Although my art teacher says that I shouldn't erase in my sketch book because it's for practicing, I do much more than she says to. When I have a few extra strokes, I do keep them because it makes it more realistic and less plain. But if I draw a face and it looks different from what I wanted it to be portrayed, then I do erase some areas and draw it again. But if I already drew most of it, and there happens to be a flaw between the lines, I just ignore it. If I do erase that stroke, I might erase the other lines and cause it to look more weird. If I can, I erase it, if I can't, then I just let it be.

I really don't like to use my eraser at all when I am drawing. I draw lightly to start with and then when I think that I have gotten a good start, I go back over it with a heavier hand.

As a kid I learned to draw by not using a rubber, which mean't it pushed my artistic skills to develop but since giving it up in senior school I've grown to be very rusty and I make a lot of mistakes which would probably be around from 5 to 30+ I can still draw scenery very well, it's closer details and things like life forms I haven't quite gasped. Kudos, ~Joey
