you love your work, you stayed with the company for more than ten years eventhough your friends started to move out and find their career out of the office. you stayed loyal and suddenly the boss said, " we cannot afford to pay you anymore", what will you do? how do you feel?

well i would feel bad..it looks like you gave everything you have to that job it was very important to you and you made alote of friends there
first of all after feeling all of the emotional bad feelings i would go to the rational side of me because that is what is going to help me get over it and continue with my life
they fired you because they think every person can be replaced..and they want somone to work in a low price it is a business like any other business that thinks about money before they thing about people so it is not your fault..so with that rational 1+1 i would say thank you. and start looking for another job.
it happens all around..it is not your fault.

I would feel cheated. I probably would burn down the office before I leave. But hey, I can't do much more right? :P

its pretty understood feeling cheated but since you are not the boss, you cant do anything than accept it. No choice than to move on. thanks.

I feel sad and wont like to work there anymore. I have resign my previous company. I felt so left behind. Thats the truth. I'm loyal but when it comes to my salary, its very sensitive. We have our rights. I think when this kind of thing happen, we have to seek for another job or else. Eat nothing!

hi, yep .. we need to seek for another job soon then move on.. or else we eat nothing. It is sometimes too bad that after showing the loyalty, in the end we realized that the company wouldn't love us in return. thank you:)

The first think I would do is update my resume! clearly it is time to move on. I would feel anxious about the future and maybe also some excitement about new possibilities.
These days it is important to consider the jobs we have as temporary. Change occurs so quickly that we need to be ready to move on. People now have the likelihood of changing careers four times before retiring.
And there is nothing I hate more than job hunting!

Well, no doubt I would feel hurt, disappointed, and a bit apprehensive. It would mean starting over some place else and leaving behind all the work I've put into that company.
I actually had this happen to me several years back but actually it was a blessing. The company closed but I took advantage of some free training offered and found a new carrer which I honestly like much more.

there's a saying if one closes the doors , check out the open windows. yeah, being positive will help here. not to dwell with emotions, but fight and check for the blessings to come. I just got a call from my friend the other day, she said she already had a new job. thank God!

Well, I have been with my company for 20 years. Actually it is a school system. Our enrollment is pretty steady and our business manager does well at budgeting. I am planning to stay here until I retire in 14 years. If I was let go I would try to start my own business. I would feel disappointed but I have lost my job twice before due to a reduction in force. So I would move on and not dwell on losing my job but looking to do something else.
