I am planning to plant some red poppies, baby's breath and two packages of those mixed variety packs this year in my front yard. I want to make a kidney-shaped garden of flowers in front of my home. I have never tried it before. I usually just plant seeds straight into dirt in a pattern. You know, white, red, white, red, white. LOL
So what are you planning? Starting from seed like me, or are you going to purchase plants to plant. :-)

We'll be buying plants to stick in the ground like we used to do....As for "what" we'll be planting...LOL oh my the list has gotten rather large! In my veggie garden there will be
lettuce
banana/chili and green peppers
cucumbers
roma and cherry tomatos
strawberries
blueberries (possibly)
grapes
various herbs
One of my flower gardens will be a "Butterfly & Hummingbird Garden" so it will have specific plants in it to attract them like
hummingbird bush
coneflowers
lillies
and in the other gardens and around the yard we'll be planting some various trees and other types of flowers etc and I'd like to plant some ferns, and wildflowers in the woods and so on....Chances of us getting all the plants in this yr is pretty slim but we'll at least be getting it started anyway which is good..LOL and exciting really..We've not had a garden since moving from Canada 4 yrs ago and wow I've missed it something awful!

Thanks for the response! I want to ask what may be a stupid question: Do you prepare the soil the same way for both flowers and vegetables? I have always assumed that a vegetable garden would be more work. Is that true?
