I was watching Jeopardy and as the contestants were answering the questions, all I could think of was, why do they know this? I tell you whenever I need to be taken down a notch, just put me in front a TV and turn on Jeopardy! Most of the time I have no clue what they are talking about.
My answer would be...What is I am really dumb, Alex. lol
How about you?

I used to watch faithfully and then I thought that the questions were getting harder or I was getting dumber. When I started watching I would get about 80% right after a few years I was only getting about 50%!

LOL tell me about it..I feel so stupid and dumb all the time let alone while watching Jeopardy! ;o) I wonder how they can know the answers or rather the questions so well. I was watching an episode a few days back and there was this lady who knew almost everything and all along she was cool as a cucumber..phew! Some jeopardy..!

That's why I'd rather be on a gameshow like Deal or No Deal where there are NO questions to answer, it's just pure luck, although knowing mine I'd probably end up winning 50p or even a 1p. I occasionally watch Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and sometimes even the easy questions I find hard. I have never watched Jeopardy maybe we don't get it in the UK but I do know what you mean! I hate sport especially football so if I went on a quiz programme you can be sure that the questions I get asked pertain to sport!

You know I think these contestants just must be trivia buffs. Who has time to soak all of that info in? What amazes me is some of them are not really formally educated.
I am like you I would be standing there with my thumb in my mouth going DUH!

I would never pass the pretest to get to be a contestant on Jeopardy LOL. I am not dumb but I do not have alot of knowledge of everything either. I do not like to read, so I am lacking in alot of areas. I would feel so silly on the show, just standing there and never pushing the button to answer a question. That would make me feel really dumb. The only way I would go on the show is if I could choose the subjects of the questions to be asked. Then I would have a better chance of answering them correctly.

I was wondering about that myself too, loves. I feel that the contestant's candid and quick answers had reduced me to being dumb or what...I guess it maybe because the questions pertained more about their history and country. We also have a game show here in the Philippines and so far I was able to guess the right answers. So am I dumb??? LOL...

In certain topics I would be very good and in others weak. I think ultimatly I would not win a show but I would put some points on my board.

Lovesfreedom, if you sat down and studied almanacs and lists and everything else you could think of, you would do just as well. They have the time and the ability to memorize and they are very motivated to win.
Don't beat on yourself, thinking you are are dumb. You just have a life with different goals.

I would not be a winner! If I had certain categories, I would do fairly well. But, I guarantee that I would not get those categories! I would get categories like 17th Russian Literature or something like that! *LOL* It's just not possible to know everything about everything. I do feel pretty stupid when I watch! :)
