i dont think this is the best advice ill give you but ill try. i usually put in the same password for every word and sometimes when some sites require some numbers or symbols, i put a few numbers in the front then my password then a few at the end. or try something that you can remember that is something you usually most think about.

I have trouble with this too. The only suggestion I have is one you've already tried - writing them down. It's really important that you write them down right away. You might think that you will remember, but if you join a lot of sites or a few days pass, you might not have any idea what your password is. I record all of mine using a spreadsheet software program and then protect the spreadsheet with another password. As long as I remember the password to my spreadsheet I have immediate access to all of my other ones.
Some people think it's a good idea to create passwords that are very similar for different sites. For example, they might add a number or switch a few letters around. However, I find this more confusing as I'm more likely to get them mixed up. Instead, I think of very different passwords for each site and try to make them something that is somehow related to the site, in order to jog my memory if I forget. Just make sure that they aren't too obvious.
Sorry, this isn't too helpful, but it's all I've got:)
